Triangle trigonometry is used to find unknown sides or angles of triangles. In a diagram of a triangle, the sides are usually designated by small letters, (i.e. a, b, c) and the angles are designated by capital letters. (i.e. A, B, C)See the diagram below:

Cosecant is usually abbreviated as csc

Cosine is usually abbreviated as cos

Secant is usually abbreviated as sec

Tangent is usually abbreviated as tan

Cotangent is usually abbreviated as cotan or cot
