"He Reminds Me of an Army General"
It has been a privilege for me to have known Dr. J.R, Boyd for over 45 years. It has been a joy to watch his godly life. his devotion to the Lord, and his effective ministry of the Lord in so many areas: pen, radio, television, church, and conferences.
It has been a privilege also to work with him in some areas of the ministry. It has been a blessing to be in his home and receive such gracious hospitality from him and his wife. A more gracious, generous, godly man does not exist. It was a joy on occasions to travel with him in visitation. Then too, he trusted me to preach on one of his French radio broadcasts in Val d'Or for many years. He paid the bills, and allowed me to use my stumbling French to preach. I can't think of a greater privilege than to have been able to work with John R. Boyd.
He reminds me of an army general who sends artillery fire into the enemy camp to break down the resistance. This he- has done in Quebec by paying for French radio broadcasts throughout the province. Quebec will never be the same because of this effective ministry.
He not only sent artillery fire, he sent troops. He send W.H. Frey into the trenches years ago. Then Yvon was saved and went forth, first to Seminary, then into the field. Through the effective ministry of Yvon hundreds have been won to the Lord, and French churches have been established.
Praise the Lord for the life and ministry of Dr. John R. Boyd. His works do follow him. What a privilege to have known him. It will be wonderful to see him again. With grateful thanks to the Lord.
