When I checked the CS-site a few days ago (9th of December 2000), I saw they placed pics of the new player models. I'm going to discuss them and tell you what the advantages and ofcourse the disadvantages are...

Counter-Terrorists:

French GIGN

This is France's elite counter-terrorism group. They are well known for their strategy of apprehending a terrorist instead of killing him. This model should be used, like the SAS in levels where there are lots of dark spots. Only if someone would have nightvision, they'd be able to see you.

GSG-9

They all look the same, now don't they ? There are ofcourse minor differences. For instance: this model has a helmet on his head to protect him from bullets. (Not that it's much help...) This ct-group originates from Germany and was founded right after the massacre at the Olympic Games.

SAS

These are the elite-troops from England. They're known as the Special Air Service and bring feer to every terrorist upon hearing it's name. I don't know why they gave him a gasmask, because I think it looks a bit stupid ingame...

Urban Assault Group

This model was inspired after the CT suit of the US-marines. Personally I consider this one of the best models along with the GIGN-model. It's great in a level like de_aztec...

VIP

What the hell happened to this guy !? He looks like a terrorist ! Why didn't they use the office type hostage-model and put him in a bullet-proof vest ! I hate this model !

Hostage Model

This is the standard hostage model for CS and I hate it. I prefer the office type, because you'd see those guys more than this guy. This guy would look ok in the level with the drill-platform, but not in those other levels...

Terrorists:

L337 Crew (Arab)

Too bad they removed his beard ! This guy looks ok, especially in the level with the airplane... That's what those guys do, isn't it ?

Arctic Avenger

It's ridiculous ofcourse, a white model in a game like CS, but actually I like it... It looks great in cs_tundra, but it practically looks good in any level... No bad comments on this model.

Gorilla Warface

Hahahaha, this model looks ridiculous ! I wouldn't play with this one in a million years ! Maybe just in de_aztec, because he'd fit in the environment, but I really wouldn't use it..

Terror

Ahh, my favourite Terrorist model. It has that typical bankrobber-look and I like that. Obviously it's best used in Urban settings, but you can use it in snowy areas too (the pants) or jungle areas (the sleeves) This is the perfect terrorist model !
