Tips for Counter-Strike:

Take your time to read these tips: even advanced Counter-Strike players will find some new things...

Random tips:

Don’t walk, crouch or jump when shooting at an enemy at large range, you’ll fire much more accurate when just ducking…

If you think your weapon is still not accurate enough you can tap with a weapon, only fire about three rounds at a time, so you give the time to re-stabilise your weapon. It is great for assault rifles and (sub-)machine guns…

You can walk without sound, so it’s hard for an enemy to locate you. What you can do is press the ‘crouch’ key while climbing a ladder, because ladders a crucial points in a map and your enemies know where they are as well…

Don’t shoot at your teammembers, they can find it pretty irritating and might turn on you…

Aim at heads, really, you’ll notice people start dying awfully faster…

Try different weapons and find out the value of every weapon, use only the weapons that match your style, technique and tactics…

When carrying a sniper rifle or the machine gun, put it away until you reach the position where you want to be, so you’ll walk faster…

Test the accuracy and the way you should tap your weapon at a wall…

Download some bots for some moving target practice. Even if the AI sucks, you’ll find out more about the weapons…

Know the maps like the back of your hand, when you want to follow your mission, need to flee or want to locate your enemy, it will go a lot faster if you know your way around…

You can purchase expensive state-of-the-art sniper rifles or a machine gun, but remember that there are good alternatives…

Always buy a kevlar vest and helmet, you can take more shots. Kevlar is more important than your sidearm, so buy and learn…

Flashbangs can be fun, but remember that when you don’t throw them properly you and your teammembers can get those funny white screens…

Smoke granades can come in handy, but the smoke blocks your view too…

HE granades can be used to weaken your enemy or to give the final blow, but they can’t kill in an instant…

Buy a defusion kit when you got much money left, or protect teammembers who have one…

Nightvision do more bad than good for what you can see, only in absolute dark places you can use nightvision (mansion and other maps)…

About the weapons:

Your knife is better than you think, it really is great when sneaking up to someone. First use the primary fire to weaken your enemy, then use the alternate fire to finish him off…

Pistols are great in the beginning when everyone has them, but don’t use them later on. You’ll find out that you When you want to kill someone with style, you can use your handgun, but if you don’t have the time for being a hero, you’d better use a more advanced weapon. Try to find out the advantages and disadvantages of every handgun…

Shotguns are for short to middle range only, they do great damage in close combat, but are very inaccurate. These weapons are great when you can get behind an enemy pump a few shells in his left eye. Find out the differences between the two shotguns…

Sub-machine guns are great when you’re short on cash, or when you’re just feeling like ‘today is sub-machine day’. They are cheap but inaccurate and not as powerful as other weapon-classes…

Assault rifles are my favourite: they are very powerful and fire at a fast rate, and more accurate as the sub-machine guns, tapping works great for these guys. The CT’s and the T’s have different assault rifles, find out witch you like best…

Sniper rifles are quite deadly when aiming for heads, they are highly accurate, so you can use them for long-distance shooting without being noticed. Sniper rifles are heavy and will slow you down. They’re good for beginning and advancing users, the veterans know they lack the power or the rate of fire of a assault rifle or a sub-machine gun…

The only real machine gun in the game is quite heavy (you’ll walk much slower while carrying one), but it is really powerful. Treat this baby with respect and you will kick ass. Even though it is highly inaccurate, you can use it when three enemies are like 5 inch away from you. Note that the price is high for what you get back, but it gives a great kick when you wipe out a whole population of enemies…

Best tip of them all

Play Counter-Srike, the best MOD for Half-Life (best shoot’em-up ever) and see how people will RESPECT you…

Remember BIG and 2pac,

'General' Solid
