Sawasdee! That's hello in Thai. The travel bug got the better of me again and for my eleventh month, we have gone to the land known in the olden times as Siam. That's Thailand as we know it today. I have stayed there for a mere five days so you could imagine how hectic my schedule had been.
Thailand is home (well, at least for the next two years) for my Ninang Ana and her family so going there is like hitting three birds with one stone. First, I was able to see my Lolo Ben, my cousins Kuya Ralph, Kuya Rgee and Kuya Rojay, my tito Rodel and ninang Ana of course. Second, we were able to save hotel expenses as we have stayed in Ninang Ana's place. Third, Thailand is a tourist haven with cheaper goods than Singapore.

While there, Ninang Ana and her family have toured us around. We have been to the temples in Bangkok where we have seen the reclining buddha as well as the emerald buddha. The experience felt like I had been transported back in ancient times with the intricately decorated and beautifully maintained Thai structures.
We have also been to Pattaya, you know, the famous beach strip of Thailand but I heard that the Philippines' beaches are still better. On 31 October, I have attended my very first Halloween party with the traditional trick or treat included.
What else comes to mind when we think of Thailand? Food of course, Thai food to be exact. Just ask my dad and he will tell you how much he enjoyed having those wonderful Thai fare while we were there. We were also able to bring lobsters, mud crab and prawn back in Singapore so the joy of eating seafoods continued for several days more.
Shopping also comes to mind when we speak of Thailand. From the moment we arrive, my lolo Ben has told us his own shopping experience there. Dad and mom were also able to bring some good buys back to Singapore.

I learn new things every passing month. And for this month, I've learned how to clap my hands. So now, I can show my appreciation by clapping my hands and it is also a good accompaniment to my usual lovable smile.
