I am one!

A wise chinese once said that "a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." If life is a journey, it follows then that a life of a hundred years starts with the first. And what life have I got so far!

I have turned a year old on 02 December. I have marked this special day with a special dinner. We had a special home made pizza and spaghetti courtesy of mommy. Needless to say, what made this day really special is the loving presence of mom and dad.

We had another dinner the following saturday, 06 December. This time, I had a birthday cake, a real one! The menu mainly consists of barbeques of pork, chicken, and beef burger steak. We also had the traditional noodles, tuna salad and young coconut gelatin dessert.

Having turned a full year old makes one gain confidence and how! I can now walk faster, without a need for daddy to take my hand. I bet walking would give way to running in no time. I can also climb the furnitures around the house. I can get up and down the bed and sofa. I also enjoy playing with slides, see saw and just plain walking around the ground gives me a high. I am also getting more sociable. I particularly like seeing other children at the playground although I often is the youngest and smallest in the group.

Since it's Christmas time, it's unavoidable to see characters associated with the season. When it's Christmas, would old Saint Nick be far behind? I usually meet this old fat guy every weekend at the mall. He even requested to have his picture taken with cute little me. I obliged, of course.

I also had my first experience of snow. Surprise? Well, since I'm in tropical Singapore I only had the one closest to the real thing which is machine made soapy and bubbly snow.

For little kids like me, Christmas means gifts, lots of it. Not one to be left behind, I got to open wrappings containing my favorite singing Barney, a wagon full of blocks, and a keyboard among many others.

My first year has been a great journey and you, my dear readers have surely added in making this journey truly wonderful. To all of you, thank you and may we all continue to live merrily during these interesting times. And to borrow Barney's song, " I love you, you love me, we're best friends like friends should be. With a great big hug and a kiss for me to you. won't you say you love me too."
Cheers!
