| This is the fifth year and sixth publication of the Belfast Lough Sea & Shore Environmental/Arts Project. Two local field trips were arranged - a boat trip around the lough and a shoreline visit with a local historian and environmentalist. Several classrooms visits from poet and project coordinator Adrian Rice, professional artist and graphic designer Vincent McDonnell and American creative arts instructor and director Molly Freeman helped the children put the knowledge they gained on the trips into written, visual and dramatic form. More about artists The book launch evening hopes to be an eventful one with guest speakers; scripted poetry & short playlets from Whitehouse, St James', Carrickfergus Central, St Comgall's and Holywood primary schools; a slide show of photos marking the process of the project; and each child and teacher receiving a free copy of this beautiful book designed and edited by poet Adrian Rice and printed at Ireland's top printers - Nicholson & Bass. |
