Gregory
Greg was  destined to be the only boy in the family.  This has been a curse and a blessing, I guess.   So, he had to be the "Lone Ranger", except when Dad was around, and Dad wasn't around much in our childhood.  He was always working.  Greg was a friendly, easygoing child, though, only getting in a few mild scrapes around the magic age of 13.  He straightened out though and graduated with high honors from high school.

By that time he knew he loved acting and singing.  He'd already been in three high school productions, including the role of Fred/Petrucchio in "Kiss Me, Kate".  Working part time for Dad during junior high and high school and then full time after graduation, he had saved some money.  He hoped to go to California in a year or so.  He joined Will-O-Way, a theatrical school and was in a few productions there, meeting his wife, Linda, along the way.  Although they saw each other all the time at the school, they remained only friends at this time.  Finally he left for California with instructions from anxious parents on how to find his way to Dad's brother, Dale, and his family in Van Nuys.  A year or so later, after living in several different apartments and attending a drama academy, he decided that while he loved acting, he loved eating even more and he was starving as an actor.   It was an interesting year, but he decided Michigan was the place for him after all.

So Greg became employed as a toolmaker and began dating Linda.  When the rest of the family and the company moved to North Carolina, he stayed in Michigan and worked in a a couple small tool and die shops there, eventually becoming a supervisor.  He married Linda in 1978 and they had a son,
Colin, in 1984.  My father had always dreamed Greg would eventually move down to North Carolina and help him with the business as Matt, Carolyn's husband, was doing, and finally Greg decided to give it a go.  Still loving his music and the theater, he, Linda and Colin have all been in many productions in the Lincoln Theater Guild.  If you would like to know more about the plays he has been in and about the music he likes, you can visit Greg's web site here.  Just click on the square button below.

Greg in one of the "fast" Spinster go-karts. He's just posing, he wasn't allowed to drive on then.
His first acting role, Captain Hook in "Peter Pan". He was in the first grade.

Greg (in full makeup including dental) with Debbie, left, and Jacki after a recent theater guild production of "Da" with Greg in the titular role. My personal and, of course, unbiased opinion is that his performance was compelling and poignant
