I.  HEALTH

     Lopeze�os' health and medical services are provided by Magsaysay Memorial District Hospital, the second largest government hospital in the province after Quezon Memorial Hospital in Lucena City; two (2) medium-sized private hospitals: the 50-bed Lopez St. Jude's Hospital and the 48-bed Holy Rosary Doctor's Hospital.  There are also thirty-two (32) barangay health stations scattered within the town as well as several private clinics.  The town's total number of health personnel which includes doctors, nurses, midwives, dentists and barangay health workers is close to five hundred (500).

II.  PROTECTIVE SERVICES

A. Philippine National Police (PNP)

     The Philippine National Police in the municipality is composed of 79 personnel and has the jurisdiction over the town's 95 barangays.  With a population of 78,694, the town should have a police personnel of 158 based on the ideal ratio of 1 policeman per 500 persons.  The present situation, however, shows that the ratio is 1:1000.
B. Bureau of Fire Protection

     The Bureau of Fire Protection has 18 fire officers in the town and has two (2) working firetrucks.  It is mandated to protect the town against fire occurrences and to extend aid to nearby towns during fire situations. Its station is located at right side of the Lopez Municipal Building near Rosario St.
