06-30
For a peak at the different POTA posters (including one of Mark)  in theatres, go to this link for one poster's pics.

ET will have a feature on Mark and his upcoming Vanity Fair layout on Monday.  All I can say is Mark in a trench coat - DROOL - (too many X-Files have totally warped my mind - he would make a scrumptious FBI agent, don't you think?)

Also MarkWahlbergFan reports Fox will be having a special POTA special July 25. Don't know if it's the same one showing on MTV on the 16th.

Officials said they would be willing to talk after the SAG deadline of Midnight, so there's still hope for an agreement.

06-29
E Factor posted a message yesterday noting the NYC premiere seems to be the one Mark will be attending along with a special screening up in Boston to support a new foundation Mark is setting up. [Details to come.] Also E reports filming of The Truth About Charlie is set to end on the 30th, just squeezing under the SAG deadline. (Still no settlement at the moment)

06-28
Seems on yesterday's Entertainment Tonight, Jordana was quoted as saying Mark and herself were no longer a couple. More details are supposed to be in July 8 issue of US Weekly. Did some minor updates to the FAQs to reflect this bit of news.

The official POTA site has been a little slow on the email updates. Aussie girl recieved some news from FOX Australia. Live webchats are being scheduled including tonight's with Michael Clarke Duncan. Next is Helena Bonham Carter July 12 at 5pm PST/8pm EST

I put ?? for the Japan date as the NY date is announced as the World Premiere. I tend to stick to offical word. Still no date for the LA premiere, but it should be AFTER the world premiere (July 23) so rumors of the 17th are prob wrong.

Applepie noted there's a bit of Mark in the Daena (Estella Warren) BTS vid at the POTA site and found an elusive pic of Mark at a club called Les Bains in Paris back in April 26. Here's a link to the story that goes with the pic!

06-27
Dark Horizons reported Mark was shooting some reshoots for POTA in England, because he was 'filming in there.' Don't know how accurate this scoop is as Charlie is only scheduled to film in France, not England. So you folks in the UK, see if you can get confirmation on this.

DH also reports the POTA trailer will most likely be with AI, not Dr. Dolittle.

06-25
Mark S. posted a scan of the Leo doll in it's packaging. Don't know if he actually bought it or was given to him by Fox. Look for them in July for sure.

The SAG contract expires at Midnight July 1! Yikes! Hope it gets resolved before then.

06-22
Dark Horizons reported the 3rd trailer may not be definite, but if it is, it will be attached to Dr. Dolittle 2 which opened on the 22nd. If you spot a different looking one, email me please. The second trailer is still running before Moulin Rouge (which is a lovely film with gorgeous Ewan singing!)

There was an interesting article in the LA Times about how Hollywood uses condoms in movie fx. For the Perfect Storm, they used it to protect the mics from water: [Keith A.] Wester proudly says that the mike worked perfectly throughout six or eight takes. "What would you call this?" he deadpans. "A major breakthrough with a condom seems strange, somehow."' and in POTA, [Rick] 'Baker employed the same technique for the upcoming remake of "Planet of the Apes" to lend realism to the orangutan makeup. "Big male orangutans have these big cheek pads on the side of their face, so we did the same thing again, tied some condoms together with water and stuck them in there," he says.

06-21
Some related news from the Boston Herald: 'A Florida federal judge has ruled that a lawsuit filed by the families of Gloucester fishermen portrayed in the movie, "The Perfect Storm,'' can go forward to trial.

Jodi Tyne, the ex-wife of the fishing boat captain played by actor George Clooney, sued entertainment conglomerate AOL Time Warner, claiming the hit movie portrayed her husband as "unprofessional, unseaworthy and incompetent.''

Tyne, who lives in Bradenton, Fla., went on to claim the film painted her husband, Billy, as "emotionally aloof, reckless, excessively risk-taking, self-absorbed, emasculated, despondent, obsessed and maniacal.''

Tyne has been joined in the lawsuit by the family of fisherman Dale Murphy, and Doug Kosko and Debra Tigue, who are unhappy with the way Hollywood portrayed them.

"It's a definite plus for us,'' plaintiffs' attorney Ned McLeod told the Sarasota News-Herald after U. S. District Court Judge Anne C. Conway denied AOL Time Warner's motion to dismiss the case.

The ruling paves the way for a trial next June if no settlement is reached before then.

Tyne was the captain of the Andrea Gail, which was lost in the North Atlantic during a fierce storm in October 1991. Murphy was one of the five crew members who went down with their vessel. The event became the subject of Sebastian Junger's best-selling book, ``The Perfect Storm,'' which was turned into the movie starring Clooney and Mark Wahlberg.

AOL Time Warner attorney Greg Thomas said his client's right to make a movie is similar to that of a newspaper to publish an article without permission from the subject of the story.

Note that the Shatford family [Mark played Bobby Shatford] is not a part of the suit.

06-20
If you've been on the MW.com Boards, you probably know I've been upgraded to co-admin. I'm pretty liberal, so don't expect me to go control crazy. And don't start emailing me to send stuff to Mark W, I only have some control on the board and wasn't hired. More of a voluntary thing for Mark S. <= I know this Mark is available :-)

I transcribed the Movieline profile. Nice little analysis. Send Thank yous and comments to [email protected]

And I finally got my diploma. So it's official, I am a college graduate . . . with no job. Pretty much the same position I was when I graduated from high school, when our president was a guy named Bush. Hmm.

06-15
This Saturday on ABC 8pm EST is the World Stunt Awards and The Perfect Storm has a couple nominations. They even dominate the water stunt category, so expect at least one award. Don't know if Mark's stunt double is nominated, but it should be interesting to those into BTS (Behind The Scene) stuff.

For those who missed the behind the scene segment on E! One of the POTA fansites The phophecysite.com has digitized the vid (Real Video) to download. No interview, but Lots of Mark on horseback! (Equine major drooling)

The July issue of Movieline has a short profile on Mark and his potential to blow up the big screen this summer. Also covered are drool worthy Jude Law & Hugh Jackman and a bit about Clive Owen. Also in the issue are rumors Mark is up for consideration for the movie version of the Incredible Hulk. The alter ego would be CGI, so no green paint on Mark's bod. Sounds interesting. Send Thank yous and comments to [email protected]

06-13
The Yards DVD went on sale this Monday in Europe and parts of the Middle East. It should also be available as rental in both DVD and VHS.

Mark's interview with MTV along with the latest Premiere article are in the transcript section.

06-09
For those who missed or want to tape Mark's interview on the MTV Movie Awards Preshow, they are rerunning them today at 11:30am, Sunday at 4pm EST and Tuesday at 6pm EST. For those outside the US, I have a rough transcript of the interview in my MarkTalk Yahoo Group. Otherwise, I'll have it and the Premiere article on the website by midweek.

06-08
The boards are back up again.

More info on Mark's B-day from the NY Times: 'Speaking of Calvin Klein, MARK WAHLBERG, celebrated his 30th birthday with 15 friends last Saturday at the Parisian culinary institution L'Ami Louis. They ordered escargot, roast chicken and bottles of Bordeaux before the restaurant flipped off the lights for a rendition of "Happy Birthday" — in French and English. Not all the American diners joined in. "Who is he?" murmured a man from South Carolina sitting a couple of tables away. His wife offered a quick response: "He's the one who starred in the underwear commercials."

06-07
MTV's Movie Awards Preshow had a 2 minute interview with Mark that may be part of the special coming up in July. I'll transcribe ASAP.

Thanx to POTA on the CA Boards, who directed fans to some POTA collectable bottletops. It's from the Japanese distributor of Pepsi, so I don't think they'll make it stateside as I've never seen them here, but you guys in Asia might. The cans however, may be a worldwide thing, we'll see. Take a look here

OK I ran out to Borders and saw the July issue of Premiere has Mark on the cover! He's holding a baby chimp. It's so cute. There's a fairly long article, here's some tidbits:

"That was one of the few days I had off," Wahlberg said. "But I had to see Chuck Heston. He had been in makeup for a good 12 hours and wanted to get out of it, but he was very polite and complimented me on my work. I said the feeling was mutual. Being from the 'hood, I've got my own views on guns."

"I said I would be willing to do whatever [Burton] wanted. I was just hoping I wouldn't have to wear a loincloth. I like to keep my clothes on these days," adds the former Calvin Klein underwear model. "And I've got tattoos."

And the infamous monkey love scene, Mark said "I was in bed with a chimpanzee. You'll have to see wheater it makes it into the movie. I've got a feeling it will."

Burton however said it was news to him. Mark is such a joker, I bet a bunch of fanboys will be looking for that scene. Oh and no George at least Burton said he hadn't heard the rumor. send thank yous to Premiere at [email protected]

Tommorrow, they're supposed to add more pics and vids of Mark at the official POTA site. Here's a link to one sneak preview of a pic

Mark's older brother, Robert had a premiere of his film 'Orphan' in Boston the other day.

06-06
Applepie, reports Allocine.com notes Universal is trying to remake Miami Vice as a movie, with Mark as Don Johnson's character and Chris Rock as his partner. Of course this is all unofficial and if it works out it's set to open Christmas of 2003. I think it's just wishful thinking on Universal's part since Mark is doing 'Charlie' for them. Remakes of TV shows are notoriously bad.

06-05
From the NY Post: "THE Last Crew," the prequel to Abel Ferrara's 1990 cult classic "King of New York," will star Mark Wahlberg as the younger version of the ruthless drug lord immortalized by Christopher Walken, PAGE SIX has learned. Ferrara has enlisted Sean "Puffy" Combs to score the gritty flick, and it's likely that Combs will also appear in it, producer Barry Amato tells us. "Sopranos" sexpot Drea de Matteo - who heats up Ferrara's upcoming "R-Xmas" - and Ferrara's gorgeous ex-gal pal Gretchen Mol also appear in the flick."

Happy Birthday Mark!!! Fans join us at 8pm EST to chat about Mark, birthdays, Planet of the Apes . . .

Still have no idea when the premieres are for POTA or Rock Star, but there are contests out there to win tickets. The latest are from InStyle magazine to go to the Rock Star Premiere The Contest ends at the end of July. Enter as many times as you want as there isn't a limit. The other one is from San Francisco Weekly to attend the LA Premiere They do not allow multiple entries, so you can only enter once.

06-03
E Factor wrote a bit about Mark's B-Day celebration in Paris. And put to rest that Matt Damon hating rumor. Thanx E!!

Butterfly from the boards wants to have a chat with all us Mark Obsessives on Mark's B-Day (June 5) at 8pm EST. More info at the boards.

Kramzagirl also found Topps has a webpage devoted to the POTA Topps trading cards you will soon be able to buy. The Topps website.

06-02
From SouthernReign: MTV will have its summer A - Z tv special tomorrow....Noon Eastern I believe, and they had POTA as its "P"

From Empire (UK): Fox Reveals 2001 Slate 31/05/2001 "'Twentieth Century Fox invites you to a showcase of forthcoming films'. That was the wording of an invite received at the Empire Online offices last week, and today Fox were as good as their word, treating a select group to an exclusive showing of trailers, clips and extended footage from a number of their upcoming productions.

One of the first up was Planet of the Apes, which began with the second trailer followed by rough-ish footage from the rest of the movie. 'We expect this to spawn a franchise of ape movies,' promised Fox UK's Marketing Director, who asked the audience to spot Charlton Heston. Eagle-eyed viewers found Heston as an ageing Ape who on what looks like his death bed says 'I warn you this human [Mark Wahlberg] holds the secret to all our histories.'"

05-28
The official POTA site has a new online game that requires GPS to discover the clues to win pieces of the set. So if you have Onstar, use it & you might win something!

UpcomingMovies.com has The Truth About Charlie set to open next year.

05-28
Seems everyone is anxious to know when the US premiere is. I have no idea, as I haven't seen the press release for it. Until someone writes about it, there may not be an announcement til 3 days before the premiere. Hopefully the official site will let us know way in advance. I did report the World Premiere as July 20th in Japan back in March, otherwise nothing else has been reported. When I find out, it'll be here

Applepie read on (www.allocine.fr - May 10, 2001) that Mark read the
script "The Winter Hill Gang" by David Flowers, produced by Tom
Cruise and Paula Wagner. George Clooney is already attached to the
project. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are also interested... For more on the plot read this early script review http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/36554p1.html Thnx to Applepie and Makin

Also new link added, this one is a lovely gallery of Mark pictures. http://celebritiespictures.supereva.it/mark/gallery.htm

05-24
Yahoo thru Rolling Stones Magazine has a short article with Stephen Jenkins of Third Eye Blind fame about Rock Star.

05-18
The official POTA site was revamped this week and is alot easier to use. Also a ton of new pics of Mark under the Gallery section (make sure you check the Photography section as well as the Leo section), a wallpaper with Mark in the download section and an interview with Mark under the video section. Thnx to Claddahgirl for the heads up!

Earlier this week, Dark Horizons posted a new pic from POTA, with Mark & Co.

Also the POTA trailer ran Sunday Night on Fox. Look for it on other channels very soon.

An article about another cameo in Rock Star, which kinda describes a scene toward the end of the movie with Mark's character.

05-17
Don't think I missed too much stuff while I was away. (LA isn't as bad as they say, just more BMWs than anywhere outside of Germany!)

There was an article on POTA in The New York Times.

Some sad news: E reported today on the MW.com Boards that Prince Ital Joe, a close friend of Mark's and worked with him for two albums, died in a car accident yesterday. RIP Joe.

To kinda make up for lack of news, I managed to copy some of  Mark's morning TV interview transcripts off Academic Universe before I left Colorado. They cover 1999 and 2000, couldn't find the older ones for some reason.

05-11
Just a note: I'll be graduating (yah for me!) and will be travelling all weekend.  I also have an interview down in LA, so I'll be offline til at least Wed. Don't think there's going to be much news about Mark, but check around for news, especially those from France. Applepie mentioned she heard rumors they would be filming The Truth About Charlie around the Cannes Film Festival.

Thanks to Garth at Dark Horizons for posting the link to this site!

05-09
Found a bigger scan of the new Rock Star poster.

Some not really news. E Online has their summer coverage and mention Mark as one of the New Super Heros. Also for those who don't have quicktime, they have the trailer set in Real & Windows Media formats. Thanks to Tweety23!

05-07
Lots of Rock Star news - Finally found the newest Rock Star poster. It's the real deal, found it on the Apple trailer page. Scroll down a bit and look to your left. I really like it. Wish it was bigger.

According to thevervepipe.com - The Rock star Soundtrack is set for Sept. 4 with  new songs by Marilyn Manson's Twiggy Ramirez, Sammy Hagar, Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, Desmond Child, and Third Eye Blind, plus classic tracks by AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Kiss, INXS, Ted Nugent, Foghat, Def Leppard, and Motley Crue.

Newfan found an early review of Rock Star that was screened for the Heavy Metal community in Los Angeles.

The LA Times had 2 articles on The Planet of the Apes! Poor Mark always getting nightmares from his movies.

05-05
Aussiegirl confirms The Yards is open in Australia, so GO NOW!!

05-04
Yeh!! The WGA has reached agreements with the studios! It's tentative, but this really drops the chances of the SAG strike. Which means more Mark movies, unless he decides to take a vacation.

Sorry about the lack of updates, but to tell you the honest truth there hasn't been any news on Da Man. I'm in my final weeks at Uni, so I'll be working on finals and stuff. If you're in the Northern Colorado area, you can come to my graduation , May 12 at 9 am!

From Wall of Sound: "King of Bad Boy Entertainment P. Diddy — formerly known as Puff Daddy  — has been asked by producer Barry Amato to write the soundtrack to upcoming film The Last Crew, starring Mark Wahlberg. The film is the prequel to 1990's King of New York. Though his songs have been used in films before, notably "Come With Me" from 1998's Godzilla, this will be Combs' first attempt at a full-length soundtrack." First time I've heard of this project. I hope they're not talking about that other walberg.

04-21
Did ya download the new Planet of the Apes trailer? Go do it! Lots of Mark scenes!

Vote for Mark as One of the Most Beautiful People. Thanks to Anne for the heads up!

From Dark Horizons is a scan of the second POTA poster, still no Mark on it, but still very cool.

Check out the POTA lunch boxes! There's even one that has Leo on it!

Ali on the boards says Total Film has Rock Star opening Oct. 5 for the UK.

The Sydney Herald had a story Tuesday and it says The Yards opens today (Thursday)! Village Roadshow still has it for Dec.

EW has it's POTA coverage up . Check out the Behind the scene photos of Mark here, here, and here. Write a thank you note to EW for the wonderful coverage. Entertainment Weekly, 1675 Broadway, NY, NY 10019 or via E-mail at [email protected]

04-20
Coming Attractions reports the next Entertainment Weekly has the cast of POTA on their annual summer movie preview issue. More photos on EW.com this weekend.

04-19
According to Janine at the Boards, Access Hollywood is supposed to have their exclusive look at the new trailer Thursday. Good Fan reports E! Daily News on Friday. And just saw Entertainment Tonight also will have a peak at POTA. Check your local TV guides for time.

Change of Date! The 2nd trailer premiere's at the Official POTA site Fri. April 20 at 7:30pm PST/10:30pm EST! That's 2:30am GMT on Saturday April 21! It also says it premiere's in theatres next week, so I wouldn't pay for 'Freddy Got Fingered' if you're only going to see the trailer until we know for sure.

04-18
For more info on the StarFest in Denver this weekend, go to the  Starland site.

Check out the Planet Of The Apes Comics site at Dark Horse Comics!

From ComicsContinuum:
PLANET OF THE APES: MOVIE ADAPTATION  By Scott Allie and Davide Fabbri.

In the year 2029, astronaut/pilot Leo Davidson is in for an adventure -- and a nightmare -- unlike anything else. While conducting vital research in space on apes enhanced with human DNA, the crew of the starship Oberon investigates a strange anomaly. Pericles -- one of the genetically enhanced chimps trained as a pilot by Leo -- is given the task of investigating the odd occurrence in a prototype space pod. When Pericles disappears, Leo disregards all orders and heads out to find his friend. Once caught in the grip of the anomaly, Leo is pulled into a time and place that he could never imagine -- the Planet of the Apes! What he experiences there is almost beyond his belief: a world where gorillas and chimps are the dominant species... a world where humans struggle to survive in the wild beneath the heel of ape rule. With the help of a sympathetic chimpanzee activist named Ari, Leo leads the effort to evade the advancing gorilla army led by the sinister Thade. And maybe, just maybe, Leo will make it back home...if he survives the war he's started. 56 pages, $6.95, ships on July 18.

04-17
Dark Horizons reports "The Denver Starfest Convention takes place from April 20-22nd with FOX set to do a special 'Apes' display booth that includes over 400 lbs. of props such as 5 Ape masks, spears, flags, clubs, swords, pendants, new posters, collectors cards, and expect both the old and new trailer to air. The big thing though is Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa will be on-stage to discuss playing 'Krull' whilst a behind-the-scenes documentary on it and various other films will also air. Meantime FOX has made exhibitors aware the third 'Apes' trailer will be attached to "Dr. Dolittle 2" on June 22nd."

04-15
The Yards is coming out on DVD ($23) Tuesday and should be available for rental too. In case you were wondering what's on the DVD, here's what the folks at DVD File said: "The Yards, which is also in anamorphic widescreen with English and French 5.1 tracks, an audio commentary with director James Gray, behind-the-scenes featurette, a gallery with concept art, and the trailer."

As for the rest of the world, Region 2 (Europe, Middle East & Japan) will be out June 11 according to Amazon. Rumors are FilmFour is trying to get exclusive extras only on the R2 disc. AGH! Why do have to do this?

Bi@n_ca from the boards has her website up, check out her Mark Wahlberg Section!!

04-13
From Dark Horizons The big news is the second "Planet of the Apes" trailer will be attached to next week's Tom Green comedy "Freddy Got Fingered,"

Also Film Force has a script review of a later draft of Planet of the Apes dated around shooting, tho we don't know if this the version they used for shooting.

BabyT522 sent me an email to let me know the April Issue of Total Movie Magazine (Josie & the Pussycats on the cover) has a pretty large picture of Mark from Rock Star and some stuff on POTA.

04-10
Added some pictures, Mark at the AMA party on your left and if you scroll down to March 15 blog, there's a picture of Mark's older bro Robert from his movie premiere.

Mark S. said on the boards, that in a few days, all the domains (MarkWahlberg.com, MarkWahlberg.org & MarkyMark.com) will direct to the official site! He's also working on the Fan Club stuff, so those who joined will finally get the stuff promised (finally)!

Mark & co. got NOTHING at Blockbuster. How unfair! George lost out ot Mel Gibson, Diane Lane to Julia Roberts (or was it Helen Hunt?) and Mark lost to Benecio Del Toro.

04-11
Not much on Mark since he went off to Paris. But there's some related stuff. Jennifer Aniston is in Vanity Fair. Blockbuster Awards are on tonight. And a fellow Mark fan from my new favorite show, Queer as Folk (the North American version). Makyla plays Daphne, the best friend of Justin. Anyway this was from her online chat Sunday.

Sasi:Is there anyone you would like to work with in the industry?

Makyla Smith: Ryan Phillipe or Mark Wahlberg. Either one of them. I'd be delighted.

04-10
Updated some more Int'l dates for Planet of the Apes. Dark Horizons reports POTA will have 3 trailers by the time it opens. So keep checking the Official POTA site!

Root for Mark and Company Tomorrow at the Blockbuster Awards on Fox. Check your local listings for channel and times.

Courtesy of Southern_Reign, Ginuwine's new album has Mark listed in his Thank You's section.

04-06
Thanks to Garth at Dark Horizons for posting the link to this site!

Mademoiselle May 2001 has an interview with Estella Warren, Mark's co-star in POTA. She has a tiny mention of Mark helping her out with her lines. NO pics of Mark tho. Thanks Southern_Reign for the Heads up!

NY Daily article rehashing the Monkey non-love scene.

04-05
The Official Site is up Again!!

From the official Boards: The guys who were hosting this site originally decided to just drop it which is why it has been unavailable. CelebSites.com is supposed to be putting up the same site for a while, along with their own version, but they're having DNS problems. Idea Integration, the company I work for, has allowed me to host the site on their servers indefinitely so I am busy setting up a copy of everything. I apologize that this backup was from September of 2000 -- messages posted thereafter are missing. They may or may not show up depending upon what CelebSites.com does when they bring up MarkWahlberg.com. In the interim, enjoy MarkWahlberg.org -- we are going to make this site crazy fun. I will be applying the look and feel of the splash page to the site as soon as possible today (4/5/2001). Thank you for your patience!!!
Respectfully,
Mark [S.]

04-03
WB did a slight redesign of the Rock Star site and confirmed the Sept 14 release date.

News from the Hollywood Reporter on Donnie's TV show, Big Apple: 'Big Apple' falls from CBS tree

CBS has pulled the plug on the David Milch-Anthony Yerkovich cop drama "Big Apple" after five airings on two nights. The show was pulled off the schedule Friday after it hit series lows Thursday at 10 p.m. (7.5 million viewers, 2.6 rating/7 share among adults 18-49), holding on to about a third of its "C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation" lead-in. "Big Apple" producer Paramount Network Television, which is filming the seventh episode of the series, plans to keep it in production for now. The show starring Ed O'Neill and Jeffrey Pierce has a 13-episode commitment from CBS.

03-31
Hey I got another scoop yesterday - courtesy of Applepie of MarkWahlbergfrance, on my Yahoo group, MarkTalk. Mark is in Paris and was filming a scene in the Trocadero area! Applepie said Mark looked as if he had a cold, so don't go screaming at the man if you see him. Thnx again to Applepie, our spy in Paris!

I fixed the page somewhat, so I hope it's showing better on both Netscape and IE. I hate how they look so different!

03-30
I finally got word from Mark S. I was right that they are transfering the site to Celebsites, however they're a bit slow getting things set up.

Last count Mark Talk at Yahoo has 15 members, welcome !

Some people are a bit confused about Yahoo Groups. It's primarly a mailing list type of board, where messages are automatically copied to all members. You can switch the default from individual emails to digest or no mail. You can always read the mail off the webpage itself, esp when the group really picks up. I subscribed to another club and got bombarded by 23 pieces in 2 hours. I changed to no mail and just read it off the groups page. Because it is members only, you have to make sure you sign in (upper right hand link) or you'll find no links to the other sections. If you have problems I can change it manually. Check the help links if you have any questions.

03-29
Markwahlberg.com is still down! Anyone hear from the folks who run the site? I've heard nothing.

The cool board died today. I give up. It was too hard to mess with. I still don't know what went wrong. SO instead I set up a Yahoo group, which is much easier to maintain. Sign up is in the menu. I sent some of you emails already, so you don't have to sign up again. Sorry about all this signing up thing, I hate doing it too, but since this site is a part of Yahoo, I'm trying to consolidate all my stuff on it.

The Perfect Storm lost the FX Academy awards to Gladiator, which was a surprise to some FX folks as Gladiator only had about 70 FX compared to the 300+ TPS had. Bummer. No Mark sighting. Double bummer.

03-25
Board is still dead. *whimper* anyone know perl?

It was not Mark on MTV. It was that other guy from Temptation Island. Hey the Oscars are on tomorrow, Mark could be in the audience, so keep your eyes peeled on the red carpet.

03-23
I have no idea what happened to the board this morning. I wrote to the host and hopefully it'll be fixed soon. In the meantime, check Annie's, Josie's or Applepie's sites for their message boards.

Movieheadlines found some links to photos of the POTA toys. I still think the 12-incher is just weird looking! The 6-inch ones look more like Mark. The links are from Diamond comics.

Coming Attractions had a scoop on the world premiere for Planet of the Apes. According to the Japan Newspaper newspaper Sponichi Annex, it opens in Japan July 20 and has published the Japanese teaser poster for Planet of the Apes.

03/20
Tigerlily wrote last week, that MTV has Mark listed as a celebrity judge for Dude, You Suck! I thought they meant the other Mark, but with the latest report of Mark being in Hawaii, it's not a big jump for him to be in Cancun. If you're near the border, a quick run down couldn't hurt! Anyway the show's on Saturday, March 24 at 2pm EST/PST, 1pmCST.

Now I have no idea when Mark is leaving for France, but I guess they don't need him quite yet. Charade was more Audrey than Cary during the first half of the movie. If you know of any news from France let me know, as it's hard to find anything on this project.

Dark Horizons reports "The main cast of POTA have been seen all over the Big Island Of Hawaii. Mark Wahlberg was seen Friday in the Price Kuhio Plaza (Mall Shopping) in Hilo. People have seen Tim Roth & Tim Burton in the plaza over the past few days. Plus it is a FACT that Mr. Heston was/is here. He was in the Hawaii Naniloa Hotel also in Hilo" I guess that's why I can't find a thing about Charlie!

I got tired of all the problems at the official boards, that I joined the fray and made a message board for Mark called MarkTalk. Take a look around!

03-16
How's this for unfair? The Yards is being shown in San Francisco  Today and tomorrow, at the Red Vic Movie House, 1727 Haight St. And where am I right now? In Colorado. Argh!

MW.com is still down! Don't know what they're doing. I wish they would at least send an email to let us know what's going on. Anyway here's Mark S'. addresses, [email protected] or [email protected]  - maybe you'll get more response than I did. And here's Paul's address, [email protected] - but I don't think anyone's heard back from him since the last fall.

An interview from one of the producers of the new Planet of the Apes from Fandom!

More stuff about Hawaii filming, no Mark tho!

Aussiegirl was very generous in transcribing a magazine interview with Mark (done around TPS). Some retread, but there's some interesting comments about his music career, Jordana and the dirk from BN!

03-15
Not much about Mark, but very interesting interview with the writers of POTA.

Mark and Donnie aren't the only thespians in the family. Photo by Mick ShawRobert also is starting his film career. He was in Southie and his newest is "Orphan" which was shown at the Santa Barbra Film Festival. You can read the review here.

Finally got a date for Rock Star (thnx to Upcomingmovies), it's set for September 14. Don't know how this will affect the Int'l dates or when the soundtrack comes out.

Side note, earlier this week, a Louisiana court dismissed the lawsuit against the connections of Natural Born Killers. What does this have to do with Mark? It and The Basketball Diaries were blamed for causing crazy kids to shooting people. I'm not sure if the case against BD ever went to trial, but the decision may help you in getting some video stores to reverse their ban on it.

03-14
Not too much on Access Hollywood, Heston just said he was playing a 'very ancient and wise ape' in POTA. Tim Burton said during ShoWest, Eminem had a very 'fluid quality much like Mark'!

I was hoping to hear from Mark S. on what's going on with MW.com, but still nothing. The site is currently off line for some reason. I'm thinking they are changing management/server and fnally setting up the fanclub section. It's been down since early Monday. Hopefully it will be back up by Friday. Meantime, hang around here or try some of the other sites I have linked for your message board addiction!

03-13
Added more Int'l dates for POTA and in regard to the French Film Commission, I think it's a mistake as it says it would be 'filming in France in the French Antilles', which is impossible cause it's not in France!

E! Online also had some comments from Heston: 'On his upcoming cameo in Planet of the Apes: "I won't tell you," he snaps playfully, before adding, "I play this girl ape..." Heston seemed even less forthcoming about who's taking his place in the lead role. When asked about Mark Wahlberg, Heston responded: "I'm sorry, I haven't seen any of his work. Has he done a lot of stuff?" But Heston then added, "He's got a good director."'  Take what you will about that comment.

Mark should be in France or at least preparing to leave the states for the filming of  'The Truth About Charlie' this week. If you're in the area and have a scoop, let me know!

Added two articles, one about summer movies including POTA and an  article from Korea which has some major spoilers about the storyline for 'Charlie'.

Access Hollywood is suppose to have Charlton Heston commenting on POTA today. Should be very interesting!

03-12
According to the French Film Commission, 'The Truth About Charlie' is also filming at the French Antilles. Which is a Carribean Island near Martinique. First I've heard of it and I don't remember Charade having any island scenes. Also the French version of the site makes no mention of the Antilles. Have to wonder which is more accurate. Food for thought. If you know which is more accurate, let me know.

ShoWest wrapped up this weekend and Wolfgang Petersen (The Perfect Storm) was named Director of the Year and "Producer of the Year Richard Zanuck (Planet of the Apes--then and now), nearly stole the show when he was escorted to the podium by six hulking actors in full Apes regalia. " E Online

Not much Mark news. Rearranged my TV  page and added a bit about some of my new favorite shows I can't really watch. Fixed some of my picture links. You gotta let me know if my links are funky people! Split my old headlines, so now the 99-00 is here and this year's old stuff is here. Added a little bit more stuff to the FAQ.

03-10
I decided to make a VERY Unofficial but quite through FAQ on Mark, as I've never seen one for him. I think it should answer all those basic questions many novice fans have about our Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg! It's also pretty good for trivia for both new and old fans. :-)

Finally have the GQ interview up. One of the longer one too!

03-09
Access Hollywood had a tiny bit of Mark at the Toy Fair.
Tony Potts: Have you seen it? What do you think of it?
Mark: Ah, I actually did see it. And it's scary, cause it looks alot like me. But it's nice. I could have had a doll before, but it would have been an underwear model. And that would've been the kiss of death. But with this, it's a good thing.

03-08
TV Alert! Access Hollywood will be discussing POTA action figures! They may have that interview with Mark!

Just about done transcribing all the magazine interviews I have. I hope to be done by the end of the week. I still have to scan a bunch, but I think the interviews are more revealing than the pics.

03-06
A couple of days ago Dark Horizons said POTA might be filming in D.C. Well Coming attractions has confirmation from the filming commission in the area. Now I'm not sure if Mark will be there, but they're looking for male extras.

Added the 1999 US Magazine interview and pics from two Premieres.

03-05
The AP confirms filming of POTA is occuring on Hilo, HA. No mention of Mark tho.

03-03
Added scans to Mark's Sassy interview.

The Honolulu Star Bulletin reports the Planet of the Apes cast are going to Hawaii to finish some filming. Not sure if Mark will be there as he's supposed to be in Paris next week.

I'll be starting Spring Break this week, so expect some goodies to be posted.

03-02
Dark Horizons has a link to two Planet of the Apes script reviews from the Tuesday Night Movie Club. There's some spoilers in there. Overall they liked the movie, except for the ending. Best part: they both say Leo is written very well. No chessy lines for Mark!

Also the apple site added the full screen POTA teaser. It's about 20mb.

The March issue of Empire will have POTA coverage. It should be out this weekend in England and in the US by April.
