Mark's FAQs

I figured I'd get a jump on all the newbies who would start streaming onto Mark's site by setting up my own FAQs on the man. This by no means is officially sanctioned by Mark or his people. I just think it'll make things a lot easier for folks if they are on a similar level of knowledge. It's also good for pulling trivia bits, as I found some interesting stuff I'd forgotten. More details, read thru this site, especially the transcript section for in depth conversations.

About Me & 'News' FAQs

OK I've been checking a bunch of other fansites and they all seem to have this gratuious page about themselves. So here's mine with semi-useful FAQs. Still have questions/comments? Send me an e-mail and I'll try and answer it.

First, my legal disclaimer just in case someone wants to sue! 'This site contain some copyrighted material whose use has not been specifically authorized by the copyright owners. Who the heck are you?
I'm a new graduate of Colorado State University's Equine [horse] Science program, but I'm originally from Oakland, California (yeah I'm from the 'hood, home of the: A's, Raiders [we got Jerry Rice!], and MC Hammer). How a girl from the urban jungle gets obsessed with horses is a long and weird story. So I won't bore you with it.[My resume/CV

I've been a fan of Mark since around 1990. My first glimpse of him was in Bop magazine with his big bro, Donnie (who I still admire). I've been the webmistress of this website since it's inception in 1999.

Update: I've been made co-administrator of the MW.com Message Boards. This site is still not connected to Mark or his official site in any way.

Besides Mark, I have other obsessions, one of which I hope to base a career on. (hint, hint: it's my major) Other things I like are also in the entertainment biz, which are listed in the links under My Other Obsessions.

Why did you start this website?
I'm a big news hound, addicted to finding the latest news on just about anything. Before Mark's site became an official one, it was the only site to have news on Mark as he and the Funky Bunch toured Europe.

After his music career, the site was hardly ever updated when Mark returned to the States. I searched and found a similar site to this one to read every news article it had about Mark. It stopped updating late 1998 and has disappeared now. It took a computer class where I had to do a horse related website, that set the spark to start this. It was on my school's server for awhile before it got erased. I moved into Xoom's site for the promised unlimited space early 1999 and had been there until November 17, when transitions to their new domain NBCi made updating a pain and the huge nbci bar. I thought the xoom bar was bad!

Do you know Mark personally?
I wish! I just spend about 10 hours a day on the internet to find all these juicy news.

Have you ever met Mark in person?
Update! Thanks to E-Factor, I finally met Mark when he came to SF for a special screening of Rock Star. Before then, I've come close thrice, before his movie career. First was during the last NKOTB tour where Mark opened for them. Second was when he was signing Calvins at San Francisco's Macy's Department Store, but I had a very important test I could not miss unless I died according to my teacher. And lastly was a concert in San Francisco, but one had to be 18 to get in. I was 15 then and couldn't pass for 18 even if I had a fake ID.

Where can I write to Mark?
I'm not sure but you can try to write to his agent at:

C/O Endeavor Talent Agency, LLC
9701 Wilshire Blvd., 10th Floor
Beverly Hills, CA, 90212

or his management people at:

C/O Leverage Management
1610 Broadway
Santa Monica, CA, 90404 (Thnx to the folks at MW.com's MBs for confirming the addy!)

Where is Mark right now? What is his next project?
I really don't know anything except what I find on the 'net. If it's not on this site, you can probably check the message boards and see if E Factor wrote something recently.

Who is E? E Factor?
E Factor is Mark's personal assistant. His real name is Eric and met Mark during 'The Basketball Diaries' where he was a consultant. He posts semi-frequently at the Mark Wahlberg.com Message Boards and I think we all appreciate the time he puts in to update us fans.

I just read Mark was gay, married, arrested, etc in the National Enquier, The Star, etc.?
I personally love a good rumor, but I refuse to archive news from crappy gossip rags. They are highly unreliable and often wrong. What do I consider reliable? Liz Smith, who is syndicated in nearly every big paper, is one of the best and Mark always talks to her!

What are all of Mark's major acting credits?

Can you send me VHS copy of . . . ?
Sorry no, because I only just recently got a VCR (finally joined the 20th century) and it's a pretty crappy one. Also I'd have to find another VCR and wires to connect them to record. People who do that for fans are saints. If you find one, be very grateful!

Why aren't there any picture pages?
Besides eating up a bunch of bandwidth, I don't have a proper photo program on my laptop to fix things the way they should. When I get a proper job (hopefully by June 2001) I'll buy myself a super computer and scanner to start scanning some magazine pictures. Update: I've added some pics but they'll be limited to the ones in magazines. I'm already at 35% capacity on this account..

There's a ton of other sites that have hundreds of pictures, check any search engine or go to my links page to some nice ones.

What's MW.com MB?
My short hand for MarkWahlberg.com's Message Board. At the official site, I've been a member since it was set up in 1999. Tons of old messages have been erased, but search around for answers to just about any question is there.

There isn't much about Mark's music here.
I started this site in 1999, so Mark hasn't really done any music since he's been acting. If he should ever decide to return I will report on that. There's a ton of other sites that include his music career and do a pretty good job.

You need to get a Life!
Probably, but it's my life. Don't like it, go away!
