ST. LOUIS ZOO
The Second Week
I reached St. Louis, Missouri Sunday evening, June 4. St. Louis is known as the gateway to the West and the local color is both eastern and western.
This city receives a rich variety of weather patterns and I enjoyed two wonderful thunderstorms during my three days there. St. Louis is home to several fine universities including Washington University and St. Louis University, which maintains the Catholic Jesuit tradition that permeates the city's culture. The zoo is one of the best in the nation.
I couldn't resist this shot.
The bird was preening itself just for me - or so I thought - until the next tourist came along...
This bird had no shame.
It flirted with every passerby. I suppose that she knew how beautiful she was. She just wanted to have a good time!
  Lions and Big Cats
The sad fact is that when I left law school two years ago I left everything -
books, computer, clothes, music, kitchen devices. I left everything behind, including my pictures. I have been trying to replace all of the images I had shot that summer.

Kansas: America's Heartland
Ad Astra Per Aspera
To the stars Through Difficulties!
Kansas, home to Bob Dole, is America's heartland. The quintessential American fairy tale, The Wizard of Oz, is centered upon life in Kansas, where tornados are frequent and deadly. (I feel as though I do Kansans a disservice in having only this small section devoted to such a beautiful state. When I have time to build a fresh page I'll add more content.)
Kansans are bright, even-headed, tough people, accustomed to calculating the
mathematical intricacies of farm production while working in an often hot, wind-swept environment where drastic temperature swings can achieve a twenty degree or more differential in a matter of mere moments!

MEETING AGAIN
FOR THE FIRST TIME
-an attempt at Romantic Poetry
By Lyndon Beharry
The soft vibrant fragrance draws me toward the pastel blossom
Where the tender petal brushes the rough stubble on my face
I linger there breathing your perfume in your bosom
I am your lover greeting you with a kiss
To meet my mouth you raise my chin
And hold me, uniting once again
We perfume the room like new buds in Spring
And I taste the sweet nectar of heaven
Your fingers tug at my hair as I caress you and tease
I nibble and kiss you on each of your ears
'Til you quiver, and bite me and whimper your pleas
Smiling to show me the joy in your eyes
Then my lips find the sweet sacred spot on your neck
As your hot breath wafts past my ear in bursts of passion
So I draw you close and wrap my arms 'round your back
As we two surrender and cling forever as one
Our souls touch, our love runs truly deep
Our hands clasp with fingers entwined
A hot tear trickles down off my cheek
We are meeting again for the first time.
