| Red Center |
| While Frank was an Ayer's Rock virgin, I had been there 14 months before. There were definite changes around the place and we did a few different things along the way... And so begins the story of Frank & Lisa's Amazing Red Center Adventure! |

| The red center had a differnt tinge to it from last year. Whereas it could have been called the yellow center last year for the coveing of spinafex grass, after a year of heaps of wildfires the center had earned back it's name. (pic right) Our first day was interesting to say the least! We began our tour amidst a desert sandstorm! Kata-Tjuta (called the Olgas by the white fellas) are said to be |
| even more majestic than Uluru (Ayer's Rock). They certainly looked very different in the middle of a sanstorm (pic below left) than they did the first time pic belo right)! In some ways it was even cooler to have that sense of nature's power surrounding us. |

| I also had a bit of a deja vu incident as I found myself throwing a frisbee with a guy in the parking lot at the Olgas - I could have sworn I did the exact same thing last time I was there??? (pic right) |

| Next we moved on to Uluru for sunset. This is where it got very interesting! This was my favourite part of the trip last time - the rock changed a huge number of shades from yellow to orange to red to burgundy. This time, though, it had an even better trick up it's sleeve... It disappeared right in front of our eyes! (pics below) |

| Our disappearing sunset was made up for by a superb sunrise! I was kind of bored last year, but this year it rivalled the colours of last year's sunset. This was a very good thing since Frank had missed out on it the night before! There are a few too many pictures to post the whole set (I narrowed Frank's series down to 9, but he insisted on keeping the rest anyway), so here are 3 to give you an idea. (pics right) |
