20 December 1997

Here is an unconfirmed bit of news I recieved via e-mail. Don't take this as gospel, because what I know is different, but I will share it none the less:

"This is unconfirmed, but I got off the phone from another label rep for Lilys and the release date will be closer to the summer. He said that Kurt has not gone into Studio .45 yet. He also said that Kurt plans to spend 3 months or so in the studio. Well I guess we will have to wait and see."

Band members have told me that they *are* in the studio... From the same person:

"I just got off the phone with the label rep at Sire. And they said that the Primary logo will be on the artwork of the new album. He also said Primary has still been absorbed by Sire."

14 November 1997

It seems that "A Nanny in Manhattan" will be featured in Levi's latest ad campaign in the U.K.! That's right folks, Lilys will be broadcast all over the place. though it's not the first time Apparently Levi's latest series of ad's has spawned hits in the U.K. for all bands involved, so it may be good tidings for Kurt and the boys...and for Tayt too! No word yet if this campaign will trickle into the U.S. Stupid me forgot to thank Daniel Abbott for clueing me in on this. Daniel is a fine chap in the UK who has had the pleasure of interviewing the band, and I should have credited him with this news long ago.

10 October 1997

I have just been informed by somebody close to the band that the impending Darla Records release (Bliss Out, vol. 10) will NOT be happening, despite reports in Alternative Press and the people at Darla. (this information has been verified with James at Darla records) He did not inform me as to why this is the case, but I hope to have that information soon. Those of you waiting with bated breath for this release can refrain from calling your local record store on a daily basis to check on it's status, as it looks like this release has been scrapped. (another source tells me that it is not 100% scrapped, but in all likelyhood will not be coming out) I will keep you updated.

A little note for those who did not read the AOL Article, it seems that the Bliss Out release that we may never hear was some sort of ambient lullabye (spelling?) type thing...ahhh, just read the article, and get it straight from Kurt's mouth!

More New Album News

Well, the word so far is this: the tenative release date for the new Lilys LP is March/April 1998, being recorded at Studio .45 again, and with virtually the same line-up. I am told that the album will be coming out on Sire, and not on Discovery. Of course, I will update you as I find out more.

A little note...rumor (straight from Kurt) indicates that he wrote a good deal of this album on the piano! What does this mean for the next Lilys record? Is this just another false lead, like the film soundtrack that Kurt was going to do? Who knows! Just thought I'd bring it up, and get all of your minds reeling a bit!
