Welcome to the world of magic. Magic is great as a hobby, or as a part or full time job. This section in my website is for the people who have never preformed magic before. Before you learn any magic tricks you must know three simple rules about magic.
1. NEVER, EVER, EVER . . . . . explain how a trick is done. Once you explain how a trick is done the effect loses all of the mystery that it had. Telling how a trick is done will often turn off your audience to the idea of magic.
2. Never repeat an effect for the same audience. The first time an effect is done the audience wants to be entertained, the second time they are trying to figure it out and much of the time will. If someone asks you to do a certain effect again just show them something similer with a different technique.
3. PRACTICE. Until you can do a trick perfectly 100% of the time, do not show it to anyone. The worst thing you can do is mess up a trick because you didn't practice enough. You will lose the respect of your audience and look like a fool. |
