| Effect: The magician gives the pack of cards to the spectator and tells him/her to take out any card. The spectator places the chosen card on the top and gives the deck one or more cuts. The magician takes back the deck and immediately locates the spectator's card. |
| Method: This effect is accomplished by using the key card concept. This concept is when you know the card which is next to the chosen card and therefore you can find the selected card. This trick is one way to use this concept. 1. Shuffle up the cards and before you give them to the spectator look at and memorize the bottom card. This can be done casually as the face of the deck is facing you. 2. Give the cards to the spectator and have him/her select one. MAKE SURE HE/SHE DOES NOT SHUFFLE THE DECK. 3. Tell him to place his/her selection on top. 4. Then have him/her cut the deck. By cutting the deck they have placed the bottom card, which is the one that you know, on top of the top card, which is the selection. 5. The spectator can cut the pack as many times as he/she wishes. 6. Take the deck back from the spectater. Take the deck into the left hand face up. Push the cards from the left to right into the right hand. When you get to the card you memorized the selection will be the card just to the right of it. |
