If things were so swell in the US before 1960, what led to the formation of trade unions in the first place? And as far as the US stopping Hitler, you need to do some serious research on WWII. The Russians did the major work there, and paid dearly for it. We never declared war on Germany until Germany declared war on us, and we just danced around the edges of Europe until '44. In case you don't know, England was in the war in '39, and Russia in '41.
