The Final Battle - Turn 5
The Chaos Space Marines who had chosen to charge the Plasma Bug found their attacks rebounding off the massive armour plates of the Plasma Bug. In exchange, its clumsy but powerful talons easily crush their power armour as if it was mere plaster. It was a hopeless fight but the Chaos Space Marines, after having endured a millenia of hatred, do not give up easily. Help arrived from a strange quarter. In the midst of the many pockets of vicious fighting, a lone man walk towards the Plasma Bug, ignoring the Tyranids about. With his cloak billowing behind him, Inquisitor Crynos stopped in his stride. As he raised his hand towards the Plasma Bug, a glow emanated from the book chained to his side. His mouth moved silently while he fixed his eyes upon the Plasma Bug before him. Without any warning, the Plasma Bug suddenly ceased in its motion before crashing heavily to the ground. Inquisitor Crynos raised one hand to his brow and wiped off the beads of perspiration before checking the previously glowing book. It was now charred and burnt, its ashes carried away by the breeze even as Inquisitor Crynos looked upon it. Without showing any emotions, Inquisitor Crynos turned about and headed for the winged Hive Tyrant still battling Grandmaster Aurelius and Wolf Priest Logir. The destruction of the Plasma Bug gave the invaders some breathing space and they took the time to regroup and redirect their fire into the approaching swarms. The spore mines had taken a toll on them and Johnny, Raschak and the henchman of Fabius Bile have all been wounded by the poisonous slime thrown out as the spore mines detonated. The return fire of the Tyranids continued to have little effect, damaging the Hammerhead. With the addition of Inquisitor Crynos, the winged Hive Tyrant was effortlessly cut down by the three heroes. Their hearts burning with righteousness, they advanced en masse towards the approaching swarm, eager to smote down the enemies of the Imperium. Sadly, their success was not repeated on the other side of the battle field as after a prolong and tense fight, brother Aquinas along with the Space Wolves Wolf Priest valiently fell in battle against the foul Carnifex. Their sacrifices were not in vain, the Hive Tyrant, its bodyguards and countless Genestealers bodies lay broken in the wake of their assault.
