Space Wolves - Battle Reports

Starship Troopers the Campaign

The Final Battle - Turn 3

As the invaders poured fired into the Tyranids, the ground slowly began to tremble. Unsure of what's happening, the invaders paused and look about as the quaking increased in intensity. With a great roar, a huge Plasma Bug burrowed out of the ground directly in front of the Space Wolves. A blast of plasma from the Plasma Bug wiped out the Space Wolves, their armour offering no protection against the super-heated plasma blast. A second tremor signalled the arrival of another Plasma Bug. The invaders planted their feet firmly and held their weapons at the ready. The second Plasma Bug emerged from the ground too close to the Tau and found itself facing the muzzles of multiple railguns and plasma rifles. Even before it could lift itself out of the tunnel, the railguns and plasma rifles scored holes into it and the plasma bug crashed to the ground lifeless.

The damaged Predator and the few remaining Space Wolves retreated away from the winged monstrosities, seeking cover behind some rock pillars. Wolf Priest Logir raced for the unmanned chain gun but could not reach it before the winged Hive Tyrant flapped into view. Two jets of unnatural warp unleashed by the winged Hive Tyrants smashed into the side of the Predator, blowing it up.

Unperturbed by the explosions and gunfire, the Black Templars fought on in vicious close combat with the Tyranids. Many of the Genestealers were slained but there were always more to replace them. The Wolf Priest and Emperor Champion slaughtered their way through the Genestealers to reach the Tyranid monstrous creatures. Tyrant Guards imposed themselves in front of the Hive Tyrant, barring the way of the two heroes. Without breaking a stride, the two heroes attacked and cut the Tyrant Guards down.
