Environment,
Health & Safety Coordinator
Edmonton, Alberta
January 1999-August
1999
I was responsible
for the implementation of a fully operational Environment, Health &
Safety (EHS) system at the GE Power Systems facilities in Western Canada.
I was to ensure that all applicable Federal, Provincial, and Municipal
regulations were complied with in all EHS areas. In addition to meeting
these requirements, the facilities had to be in line with all corporate
EHS programs and initiatives. Through internal audits, EHS problem
areas were identified and I was responsible for their correction.

Environmental
Technician
Calgary, Alberta
September 1998
- December 1998
I assisted with water
and soil testing during Phase II and Phase III Environmental Site Assessment
projects. During this time, I gained an understanding of the process
of environmental remediation work, especially through the Phase II and
III areas. I also gained experience in report-writing and workplan
development. As this company is a 3-person operation, I learned about marketing
and entrepreneurial skills in watching the Principles acquire new clients
and build a reputation.

Summer Research
& Development Assistant
Regina, Saskatchewan
April 1996 -
September 1996
I was a member of a 5-student team that assisted the Development Representitive in the research and development of experimental agricultural chemicals. We were responsible for establishing trial sites, spraying the sites, doing assessments throughout the season, accumulating data, and finally harvesting some of the trials. Despite the long hours, we managed to maintain an extremely high level of accuracy, to the point where the individuals from headquarters in Toronto and Switzerland that inspected our sites said our trials were the best they had ever seen in their time with the company.
