I am in my second year of the planning program at EVDS.  I have completed coursework in urban planning and design abroad in Barcelona, professional planning practice, urban design, and conceptual bases for environmental design.  For more detailed information about my work in the planning program, please refer to my planning page.

For my research on community design in the information age, I was awarded an Environmental Design Graduate Research Scholarship for the current academic year.

I am currently a Teaching Assistant for the first year planning omnibus course at Environmental Design.

Based on my previous academic performances, I was awarded an Environmental Design Scholarship for the 1999-2000 academic year.

I was selected to participate as a member of the 2000-2001 Planning Program Admissions Committee.

At this course, I studied Environmental Law and Environmental Management
Systems. The Law Course helped me to refresh and update my knowledge of
environmental regulations that I acquired from York University. It also provided
a way for me to learn about regulations that are specific to the province of
Alberta such as the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, the
Energy Resources Conservation Act, and the Forest and Prairie Protection Act.

The Environmental Management Systems Course provided me with an
understanding of the elements of an EMS. The focus was on the
implementation of the system as a whole, with specifics to be worked out
within an organization. This course was very useful in the implementation of an
Environment, Health & Safety System during my time with General Electric.

My senior Honours Work was original research on the Agricultural Subsidy the Crow Rate, and how it's abolition has impacted prairie communities and environments. This degree has provided me with a solid understanding of environmental issues and the policy process. As the environment is a cross-issue matter, I believe that this allows me to better understand many different issues such as forestry, energy, agriculture, trade, oil and gas, and transportation.

During my two years at the U of S, I was headed towards a double major in Political Science and Geography. I decided that these two majors would provide me with an understanding of the two areas of greatest interest to me: policy/politics and the environment.
