Saturday's schedule featured a qualifying session which set starting position for the afternoon's qualifying race. Starting position for Sunday's regional race was set by your finishing position in the qualifying race.
Saturday was insanely hot (near 100 degrees) and humid. I tread gingerly in the first session trying to stay focused, and brush off the rustiness in my driving. Everybody played nice through all sessions with little to no contact and almost no yellow flags. Cooler weather on Sunday made for faster lap times.
3 Hours solo!!! What fun!!! Drove 70 laps before coming for fuel, then another 50 to the end. Go moved into the marbles in the oval a few laps from the end, and came in for a quick lug-bolt check as the car felt like a wheel was about to fall off. Again, everybody played nice. One Maita had an unfortunate meeting with the wall at the exit of turn 12 which prompted a few laps following the pace car, but all-in-all, it was a great experience to know I can be in the car as long as I was and still turn consistent lap times.
