The drive from Chester to Portola was a gorgeous trip through the mountains. The railroad followed the same route an included some interesting structures. |

These bridges split off after the track emerged from a tunnel. I learned later that this split was known as the Keddie Wye (or Keddie Y) and crossed another portion of Spanish Creek (1937 photo of Y from inside tunnel). |
