What is Anime?
News and Updates
"Wizards not included. Some assembly required."
Anime is the term used to refer to Japanese animation. Japanese animation is roughly similiar to American cartoons. However, while American cartoons are created more towards a children's audience, Anime in Japan is enjoyed by people of all ages. It contains television shows and movies that span nearly every genere from romance to comedy to horror to action. In Anime, quality is stressed over quantity. Because the stories are animated, creators are capable of making movies with camera work and special effects that would be impossible in live action cinema, making Anime a very enoyable and compelling form of entertainment.
What is the Anime Club?
The Lee College Anime Club is the first and only offical Anime Club of Lee Community College. It is dedicated to the enjoyment, socialization, and promotion of Anime. It serves as a medium for people who love Anime to come and share their interests with other people just like them.

Established in the Fall of 2003 by William Christopher, and organized by Chad Brumfield, Dustin Thomas, and Nate Reid, the Anime Club existed for it's first year without a budget of it's own, going through hard times in order to survive. However, after proving their worth, the Anime club was granted a budget by the SGA and works towards building an excellent library collection for the club to enjoy.

The Anime club holds meetings every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.in the Edyth Olde Studio. Viewings are held after our meetings, but may also be held at any other time of the club's choosing. We also attend other social events such as Anime conventions, movie premieres, and other such events. We also participate in Fall Fiesta and Spring Fling every year. Our viewings are open to all Lee College students and the public, free of charge. Anyone is welcome to join the club, according to the rules of the college's Student Handbook. Our club has it's own established by-laws, and we follow Robert's Rules of Order to run our meetings.
