The Vampire Armand 1998

This story is told by Armand to David. He tells him about when he was a boy and was kidnapped and brought to Venice. Marius found him at a brothel and took him home to his palazzo. He was a pupil there with many other boys, but he was Marius' favorite. When he was around seventeen, his former lover tried to kill him with a poisoned dagger. He would have died if Marius had not given him The Dark Gift. Later, evil vampires burned their house and kidnapped Armand. He came to live in the coven ruled by Santino for many years, until he got a coven of his own in Paris. This is the same coven that kidnapped Nicki in TVL. He also tells David about how he survived the sun in MtD, and about the two mortals he is so fond of, Benji and Sybelle.

My comments I loved this book. It's one of my three favorites I mentioned earlier. But, as always, there are some things that I don't like or understand. Let's start with the sex. Armand described Marius as "being hard", and I'm quite sure he didn't mean in the usual "marble-skin-kinda-way". Also, he said he was eager to try the things he had learned at the brothels on Marius. Meaning what if not sex? Ok, to another thing I don't understand: How could he fall so deeply in love with Benji and Sybelle? Boring Marius gave them The Dark Gift so that they could hear Armand's thoughts. But if maker and child are too close by blood to hear each other, shouldn't it be the same thing for "siblings"? And the part that I hated. The end when Lestat came back to life...Somehow, it wasn't Lestat. I can't describe what I mean, you have to read it yourself
