This book is written by Pandora, for David. She writes about her mortal life 2000 years ago in Rome, and how she was forced to leave for Antioch. There, she started to have nightmares in which she dreamt about drinking blood. At the temple of Isis, she was told that a Roman could help her. She went to his house, but while waiting for him, a vampire came and drank from her. Just before she died, the Roman came home. It was Marius, a man whom she had known back in Rome. They went down to the cellar where a man and a woman sat on thrones, neither of them moving. The vampire tried to drink from the woman but she crushed him. After that Marius made Pandora into a vampire. They lived together for 200 years, but after an argument, Marius left. And thats basically her story. |

| Of course I liked this book, but it wasnt spellbinding enough to get five drops. A friend of mine who doesnt normally read Anne Rice read this book, and she said the best part was when Pandora went shopping for slaves in Antioch. And when she asked her slave Flavius to have sex with her, and he answered he couldnt. Are you sure? A thing that I liked is the fact that Pandora and Marius had sex, after becoming vampires!!! Hmm, back to the point. Pandora said her real name was Lydia, which is quite strange since Lydia was a name used for slaves in ancient Rome, not by the daughter of a rich senator. Maybe Anne didnt know that? If anyone knows the answer to this mystery, you can always e-mail me |
