| Terragen is a photo-realistic scenery generator. I learned about it while looking through the galleries at Renderosity, a site featuring CGI (computer generated images), Terragen, Fractal, Poser and many other artworks by professional, ameture and inbetween artists. And after seeing the kinds of images tha can be created, I downloaded the program (for FREE) and was immediately hooked! The program is relatively simple, though someone just starting out might find themselves overwhelmed by all the settings that can be changed and tweeked to make all sorts of wonderful images. I have and am continuously, scowering Terragen websites for free files, plug-ins and tutorials to improve and create newer and more interesting images. But I am still learning how to use the program - trial by error way of teaching myself how to use this wonderful program. Within this part of the gallery, there are five different sections: Water - images of oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. Land - images of mountains, tundras, deserts and other related scenes Sky - images of cloud formations, sky scenes, sun, etc. Space - images with the camera perspective set higher than normal, creating a beautiful effect where terrains and atmosphere is scene as if from space. The Strange - images of...well...the strange! You'll just have to look and see what I mean! The latter section is the most interesting, in my opinion, because here is where all the pictures created by mishaps and playing around and things just not working as the should have when following a tutorial. Please, take the time to look through the images and I hope you enjoy what you see! And if your inspired, please check out the Resources page to find information about Terragen. Lady Sythe |
