Where
do I live? : In a small town in Illinois, right across
the river about 20 minutes away from downtown St. Louis, Mo.
Children:
I have one child, Nathan who’s 12 years old, and
the light of my life. And now we jave another one on the way!
Occupation:
I work at a rather large library here in Illinois. I’m the
assistant cataloger and I help in doing the cataloging of materials
for all three branches of our library.
Hobbies:
I love music of almost any kind. If it has a beat I can usually
find some kind of redeeming value to it. (Sometimes not always.
<g>) I also enjoy reading, watching television and going
to the movies, and writing JAG fiction in my spare time (which
I don’t have much of).
What
do I want to be when I grow up? : I always wanted to
1) be the voice of a Disney cartoon. I watched “Little Mermaid”
just knew I wanted to do something like that. 2) I always wanted
to do musical theatre. After acting in high school plays and taking
as many chorus classes I could, I just knew someday I’d
be on Broadway. Didn’t happen of course but sometimes I
still dream...
For
the most part I’ve always been a daydreamer. When the show
“Ally McBeal” first came on the air I found it immensely
funny because I totally related with her. My imagination has always
run wild and my mom always said I needed a filter on my mouth
because what I think almost immediately exits before I think about
it. But even now as an adult I catch myself living inside my head
more than I should. Everything inspires an idea or a story in
my mind, be it a song, a show, a walk in the park or even day
to day things like picking my son up from school, washing dishes
or doing laundry. Making up stories and scenarios in my mind is
my way of dealing with just the average life I lead.
At
an early age we realize that life isn’t always a fairy tale,
and most times, doesn’t even come close. Most of us have
a “story”, some have a more tragic or grand story
than others. If being in this fandom has taught me anything, it’s
that we’re not alone. Someone, somewhere, has been or is
going through the same things I am. It’s been a constant
source of support for me. My journey into the JAG fandom started
out as a curiosity into a joint interest, and ended up an incredibly
essential part of my life.
And
because I’ve gotten that unrelenting support, I’ve
always tried to be a support to others as well. Encouraging new
members and authors is a job I take very seriously. Without encouragement
we lose not only hope, but faith in ourselves, which is so very
important.
So,
I hope that this site will not only be something everyone enjoys,
but hopefully inspire you as well.
