Kylegariff is located in North-East county Limerick, about 16 miles east of Limerick City. It is part of the parish of Cappamore, and Cappamore (4 miles) and Doon (2 miles) are the local villages. The official government spelling for the townsland of Kylegariff is actually "Kylegarve", and this is the way that some of our neighbours spell it, but for some reason we have always used the " -iff" ending.
Kylegariff is small in area, little over 320 acres in size. At the time that many of the photos were taken (mid 20th century) there would have been seven families living in the townsland.
