Sagalla health center
is located in coast province, Taita Taveta district
on the sagalla hills. it is a five-hour journey of
338km from Nairobi to voi town and an additional 16km
from voi town to sagalla health center. the project
is just by the roadside less than a 100m. Project

It is a basically health institution for community
diagnosis, treatment and preventive services.

Duration
3 -6 months for mid-term volunteers and over 6 months
for long-term volunteers.
Basic facts
upon arrival to Kenya, an orientation session / preparation
seminar will be offered. Transport to and from the
project, food and accommodation arrangements will
be taken care of by KVDA.
Climatic conditions are as follows: - Environment - green bushy area with trees,
cool, with an annual average rainfall of about 1000mm.
The coldest months include June, July and partly august.
Temperatures range from 26 - 30 degrees centigrade
though there are variations depending on the season.
Altitude is about 1500m above the sea level.
Other facts: A transport (minibus) connection point - 100m
away
For a wide variety of shopping possibilities, one
has to travel 18km to voi town, a principal town on
the Nairobi - Mombasa highway.
Number of volunteers required
a maximum of five from January to December
at any open time. Volunteers must start serving in
the project at the given time either on the beginning
or middle of the month.
