ABOUT OUR MID/LONG TERM
PROGRAMMES 2005-2006
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Kenya, one
of the most varied, exotic and beautiful lands in
Africa and welcome to the KVDA MLTV
programme/projects 2005-2006.kvda recognizes,
acknowledges and appreciates the noble commitment
of its local, national, regional and international
volunteers and partners to make a valuable contribution
in all forms and in various manner to the MLTV programme
and to the spirit of volunteerism. it is the desire
to help others “to volunteer” on self
that has and still is the cornerstone for building
a better world. for it is the volunteer spirit that
is the source of humanity’s countless development
and humanitarian efforts and aspirations.
Majority of the KVDA
volunteers from all over the globe being of a youthful
spirit KVDA notes that “young people”
everywhere…
- Have aspiration and want to participate
in the lives of their societies.
- are key agents for social change;
economic development and technological innovation.
- Should live under conditions that
encourage their imagination, ideals, energy and
vision to flourish to the benefit of their societies.
- Are confronted by a paradox; to
seek to be integrated into the existing society
to serve as a force to transform it.
- Are also societies to demographic
group at risk with an uncertain future even though
they represent society’s greatest hope.
The volunteers and partners
from all walks of life and different parts of the
world are valuable jewel to the KVDA MLTV programme.
our joint capacity makes us able to move mountains.
our joint capacity cannot be measured. the potential
is still great and upon continued constructive optimum
and sustainable harnessing (since there is a shortage
of voluntary tasks-most of which are well with in
our capacity) the realization of a better world shall
be no dream but a reality.
The KVDA MLTV programme
has been growing stronger and better over time with
the small successes and victories growing more and
bigger. The tough challenges and choices encountered
now and then may seem overwhelming but we are convinced
that each one of us has and will continue to play
his/her role(s) diligently to over come them. let
us all resolve to take more positive steps and combine
our skills with true wisdom to further the true ”spirit”
of voluntarism in service.

understand and react to things differently to many
of the people and communities you will work/stay with
/visit /meet-not better, just differently. do not
allow the awareness you gain of a country before hand
close your mind set to the experience to be encountered.
many things and countries turn out to be different
from people’s expectations. lose your preconceptions
