Well, I dont. Love dogs, that is. I like them fine as long as theyre not bigger than I am, but theyre not my number one choice for a pet. Im more of a cat person. Yes, dogs have owners and cats have staff, but cats are very cool, laid back animals and that suits my personality a little more than a hyperactive canine. But I digress.
Yet another of these who-isnt-in-this movies. The credits list Stockard Channing as a cast member, but shes nowhere to be found in the trailer. Elizabeth Perkins is in this, who I love. Most women will flock to this to see Dermot Mulroney, but the rest of us are going to see John Cusack. The man has aged well, thats for damn sure. What is it that men can get better looking as they age, but women cant? WTF? Life isnt fair. But I digress.
The plot seems to be a straightforward plot consisting of girl just gets out of long-term relationship, girl finds boy, girl loses boy, girl gets boy back. Where was this movie on Valentines Day when I needed a dose of John Cusack? It will be a welcome change of pace from all the summer bangs and booms, although you may still hear them through the walls of the theater while youre watching this movie. It runs the risk of becoming just another romantic comedy unless theres a special chemistry between Diane Lane and John Cusack or theres a special twist somewhere. |
