Take away the blood! I heard teachers say: To learn a language is years of hard work, blood and sweat. I am very lazy. I saw people took 4-8 years to make the same exams at intermediate level. I thought, I make it more fun, like a pastime instead of learning. This way it was not so hard to find the time for "learning". So i decided to watch less TV, read no bad news in the paper -a benefit in itself- and I could easily find 2-3 hours a day for my new pastime. So I took my book to the swimming pool, I took it on to the train when I was traveling instead of the cross-word puzzle and I took it to my bed instead of a thriller. It took only a few months and I could read the newspaper in another language, I was enjoying movies without dubbing and I could even read a thriller. Make it before you forget it! If you put in 22 hours a week, it will really take you 4-8 years to learn. It means that you struggle for years and you still can't speak. Why don't you put in some more time for a few months and enjoy your knowledge for the rest of your life? When you take your first course after your preparation, you will have a great advantage. You will understand the teacher and you will understand your new course book. You will not have to learn 20-30 new words in the next 2 or 3 days. Most of the words will be already familiar. So you will be able to concentrate on the pronunciation of the teacher and other important things. While others will be whispering around asking each other about new words. Help them quietly, so that they don't disturb the course. You will see how much easier it is to answer questions when you are already familiar with the words. Now you can also do your homework exercises, as there is the teacher who usually will check and correct it. |
