A world not found on any modern starcharts, and easily overlooked even on older galactic maps, Dagobah nevertheless houses a plethora of life, from tiny lizards and swamp-dwelling predators to ancient
Jedi Masters and a shroud of darkness.
Dagobah, located far out on the Outer Rim, is a planet filled with murky swamps and dense jungles. Within these mist-shrouded trees, many different reptiles, avians and creatures take refuge; small nudj lizards clamber over the twisted trees while bog wings fly overhead in the mist surrounding the planet. A few creatures can also be spotted in Dagobah's swamps - though make sure you don't look for too long - such as the deadly dragonsnake and vicious swamp slug. Fierce electrical storms and strong winds have also been noted around the planet, making the world even more difficult to get to.
However, Dagobah has been settled by a handful of beings; as well as early explorers and scouts, the Jedi Master
Yoda retreated to Dagobah during the Jedi Purges. He eked out an existance in the demanding environment, even battling a Dark Jedi in what became known as the cave of evil. During his Jedi training on Dagobah, Luke Skywalker entered this cave - which was permeated by dark side energies that cancelled out Yoda's presence in the Force, shielding him from Force-users - and faced a horrifying vision of Darth Vader. A year after leaving Dagobah to face Vader for real, Luke returned to find Yoda dying. The Jedi Master passed away, and Luke again left the planet to face his father.
