Thrust into the midst of an epic war against thousands of mindless drones and going against their mandate to protect, not attack, it's no wonder many Jedi refused to fight in the
Clone Wars. Sora Bulq was one of them, leading a group of Jedi protestors on a campaign to lessen the role of the Jedi in the war.
A Weequay from Sriluur, Sora Bulq was one of the few Weequay who had an aptitude for
the Force. He was also skilled with a lightsaber, as he proved during the Battle of Geonosis. Sora was one of around twenty Jedi to escape the Geonosian execution arena, though it was believed he died when his Gunship was destroyed. He survived, however, and returned to Coruscant - though his experience on Geonosis gave him radical views on the Jedi's role in the Clone Wars.
Before those terrible conflicts, Sora Bulq was a lightsaber instructor at the
Jedi Temple on Coruscant, and could hold his own against many Jedi Masters. Sora learned a dangerous lightsaber technique called the 'Vaapad', named after deadly predators found on Sarapin. Known as something of a dark side technique, the fact that Sora used it in combat didn't bode well with the Jedi Council. In fact, after leaving the Jedi Order to protest against the Jedi's new status as army generals, Sora came even closer to darkness. He assembled his Jedi dissidents on Sriluur's moon, where he eventually fought Mace Windu, who had been sent to negotiate with the Jedi seperatists. Mace escaped, and Sora vowed to challenge him again.

Though Sora was suposed to be on the exploding Gunship, he turned up in the Jedi: Mace Windu comic, now as a dark Jedi. Obviously the effect of being blown up did not go well with him!
