Though the loss of a hand may have been viewed as somewhat problematic in a bygone age, it is no longer considered a problem for the modern galaxy. A lost hand can be replaced with a stronger, tougher and faster bionic one.
Using state-of-the-art digital processes, a medical droid can attatch a bionic hand to a patient with even the most severe wound. There are various styles of hand; modern realistic looks have replaced earlier designs which lent the hand a far more automated feel. The arm Anakin Skywalker lost during a battle with Darth Tyranus was replaced with a distinctly robotic-looking appendage. However, when his son suffered a similar fate at the hands of Darth Vader, he was given a top-of-the-range bionic hand which most would find very difficult to distinguish from a real one. |
