| AAYLA SECURA Species: Rutian Twi'lek Born: 19 BE (38 BBY) Birthplace: Ryloth Homeworld: Coruscant Affiliation: Jedi Order Weapon: Lightsaber Vehicle: Delta-7 Jedi Starfighter Significant Others: Pol Secura (uncle) Quinlan Vos (master) Tholme (master) Debut: Twilight (comic) A beautiful but deadly Twi'lek Jedi Knight, Aayla Secura had a brush with the dark side at a young age, though unlike others before - and after - her, she came through to serve the Jedi Order once more. Born to an influential Twi'lek clan on Ryloth, Secura was soon taken in to the Jedi Order, and became Quinlan Vos's padawan learner. However, while investigating the illegal trafficking of glitteryll, both Master and apprentice were robbed of their memories by the scheming drug baron Pol Secura, who was also Aayla's uncle. So unscrupulous was Pol that he kept the confused Aayla as one of his possessions, holding his unknowing niece as insurance against future Jedi reprisals. In a fit of confused rage, Aayla struck Pol down, before fleeing Ryloth, terrified by what she had done. Aayla found and freed the Dark Jedi Volfe Karrko, on the Kiffex prison moon. Entranced by Volfe's dark powers, Aayla attacked Quinlan Vos when he came to look for her. Luckily for the two of them, Secura suddenly regained her memories, and realised just how far down the dark path she had fallen. Upon their return to Coruscant, Aayla and Quinlan were wisely seperated by the Jedi Council, leaving Aayla's training to be finished by Master Tholme. Aayla passed the trials and became a Jedi Knight. Her athletic build helped her in battle, while her species' sensual nature made her an empathic but impulsive Jedi. While capable with a lightsaber, she preferred to use it in a strictly defensive mode; like most of her people, she preferred cunning over violence. However, Aayla did take part in the Battle of Geonosis, first fighting alongside her fellow Jedi in the execution arena, before leading clonetroopers into battle against the Confederate forces. Aayla later played a part in the Clone Wars which followed. |
