What is The Matrix? That is the question that drives this fantastic first chapter in The Matrix Trilogy. Keanu Reeves plays a business man who spends his private life in computers. When he is contacted by a man named Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), Neo (Reeves) learns that the world he lives in is simply a computer program that has been pulled over his eyes to shield him from the truth: that we are all slaves. Many people feel that the second and third films are unnecessary, but that is not the case. These films truly are a trilogy. After one watches all three and goes back to watch this one, so many more things are made clear. So many things are understood. This really is only the first chapter.
