REFLECTION
Throughout this course, I have improved the integration of my lesson plans, instruction, and assessment in my classroom. I still have to assess progress in the required multiple-choice, standardized tests, but my in-class assessments are much more in tune with the personal needs of the students. I am able to evaluate the students' written work or discussion participation with a better sense of their comprehension and ability to apply the information to a wider variety of situations. I am more able to recognize the need for remediation on a topic before moving on to something new. Since becoming more familiar with the process of lesson planning, I can expand my lessons to encompass more student's functioning level within the lesson plan. Students have different learning styles, and these can be accommodated, also. I am more confident with the entire process from the initial idea for a lesson through to assessment of both the students' learning and my presentation of the material.
