Reflection
As a student, I was always aware that the teachers had lesson plans. As a GED teacher, I have outline lesson plans to show where my class has been and where we are going in the curriculum. After the discussion in Jacobsen's text on goals, objectives and assessments, I have a much better idea of how the goals and objectives can do more. By becoming familiar with Mager's behavioral objectives, the more general view of Gronlund, and the goals objective approach, I am able to view the process from beginning to think of ways to teach a concept clear through to the assessment of the student's learning. While my style of writing objectives may be more eclectic than focused on one specific theory, I will be a more effective teacher because of my being aware of the process and its benefits.
