Reflection
In order to effectively connect with another person, such as teacher to student, the students' entire self should be considered. This includes the student's personal development, family, culture, society outside of school, and all the other influences in their lives. By using the student as a source of goals in education, an understanding of the student's development is very important. My previous vocation as a social worker has given me the eco-systems approach to evaluating a student's needs. I have found this approach helpful in education, as well. All the student will learn will first been seen through the views he shares with his family and friends, and realizing this will aid me in continually assessing the efficacy of my teaching methods with regard to how each of my students grow and learn.
