Peace: Where is your peace?

Peace

Where is our peace? In what can we find peace? Man has never found peace in the world. Man has never found peace by following the flesh. Just about every where we turn today there is everything but peace.

So where can we find peace? The answer to this is found in John 14:27

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled. Neither let it be afraid.

This was the words of Jesus. This verse still applies to us today. Notice that Jesus is saying in the last part of that verse " Let not your heart be troubled. Neither let it be afraid.

Troubles and fears sometimes wash over us at times and we begin to feel overwhelmed. Just as Peter did when he stepped out on the water. At first he was strong and full of faith but then he let doubt and fears creep in. He became troubled and fearful and he sank. Thank the Lord though that he still knew who could rescue and deliver him. Remember how that he calmed the strom and spoke to the winds and waves and said " Peace be still?"

Do you have peace in your soul? If you have been saved then you received that peace about your salvation. If you are troubled about your soul's condition then you too can find that peace. Reach up to the same one that Peter did. You will also find his hand reaching down for you.

What about you Christian? Are you troubled over something? Are you fearful? Jesus is sending you this message today to reassure you to trust in him. Don't let your heart be troubled or afraid. Feel the calm.

The children of Israel was led out of Egypt. Happy and rejoicing no doubt to be set free. They came to the red sea and fear and trouble came upon them as they saw the enemy approaching. They could see no possible way out. Fear overtook their faith but Moses stood forth and said unto them

Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more for ever. Exodus 14:13

As We begin this New year. Do not be troubled or afraid. The Lord wants you to be still, and let him work. I remind you that we have already spoken that there is nothing to hard for God to do.

You may be troubled over finances. Remember that Jesus tells us to consider the Lilies! Consider the sparrows. Be not troubled or afraid.

You may be worried of providing for your family or a need in your life. God can supply. Remember the lesson on him feeding the multitudes.

You may feel that your problems are insurmountable. So did the children of Israel but all God wanted them to do was be still..he already had a plan.

Your fears may be over health issues but we know the greatest physician. Not only can he heal , he can even raise the dead.

If we go into this New year troubled, doubting and fearful being apprehensive then we are not going to enjoy that peace that is there for us to rely upon.

Let Go and let God as the old saying goes. Our lord wants you to be a happy Christian. If we present ourselves always worrying or doubting, what kind of testimony is that for those who do not know God?

There is nothing that you will face that God cannot handle. David faced a giant and he was just a boy but God fought the battle for David that day. The rest of Israel were frightened and very troubled and in that condition no victory could be won.

God wants to give you victory today. He wants you to be strong and confident and put your trust in him.

He is not only a peace maker and provider and great physician but he will always be your friend. When you feel lonely, afraid or just tired, He will be there for you. He tells us to cast all our cares upon him because he cares for us. He tells us who are weary to come to him and he will give us rest.

God's power is not limited. We are the ones who tend to limit God. When we do not realize and give him the credit that he can handle anything that can happen. He can calm the sea. He can part the waters, he can win the battle whatever it may be. I hope this is encouraging to everyone who reads this today.

Be careful for nothing: but in every thing by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ. Philippians 4:6-7

There is much hope for this New Year. There is much hope for you, whatever your need is today. Be still. Cast your worries and cares upon God. Enjoy the peace that only he can give. Nothing is impossible for God to do.

Even when we are weak, He tells us that his grace is sufficient for us and that his strength is made perfect in weakness. We need to admit that we do not have control but that God is in control.

We are to be a follower. He will make the way, he will provide and supply. Be at peace in God today. For without that peace you cannot be happy. Worrying changes nothing but prayer can move mountains.

May God bless you today is my prayer.

-Karen
