Worshipful Master Officers 2006 Lodge Jewels Next Meeting Our Temple |
Explanation of the Lodge Banner
The banner of Lodge Kinner Kailash No. 320 on the rolls of The Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of India.
The base colour of the banner is Green, the colour adopted by the Lodge, with the Name and Number of the lodge embroidered thereon, along with the place where the lodge meets.
The Sun, the Moon and the all-seing eye.The photograph in the centre of the banner is that of Mt. Kinner Kailash, from which the lodge took its name. Kinner Kailash is a sacred place in the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh.
Below that we have the square and compasses along with the motto of the grand lodge i.e. Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth. The date of warrant and consecration. The Square pavement and the two great pillars. And finally the Name of the Lodge which sponsored Lodge Kinner Kailash and also presented this banner.
Going by symbolism the Green colour of the banner as also the colour adopted by the Lodge represents prosperity of the Lodge, the Brethren by enriched experience, knowledge, wisdom, fertility of thought, ideas, etc.
The Sun is there to rule the day, the moon to govern the night and the all seeing eye to remind us that the G.A.O.T.U. is seeing what we are doing through the day and night and how well we are utilizing the 24Hrs of the day and to him we have all one day to render an account of our conduct through life. Thus we should live respected and die regretted.
The Name ‘Kinner’ means top, the zenith or the peak. The Clip of Mount Kinner Kailash is a source of inspiration for the brethren that they have to rise high in life in every aspect of life as the peak of Mount Kinner Kailash stands different and distinct from other peaks so may we rise in our respective field of life and avocation so that the world may know that these are the ones to whom the burdened heart may put forth thy sorrow, the distressed may prefer there suit, and these are the ones whose hands are guided by justice and there heart expanded by benevolence, while rising high in life we should at the same time be humble ever remembering that only those things fall which rise too high. Thus we should be like a fruit bearing tree which gives in abundance and at the same time is bent with the weight of the fruit that it bears.
The lodge is working towards strengthening itself and spreading the message of the Grand Lodge of India by practicing Brotherly Love, extending Relief and impressing everyone of its members to be truthful.
The square and compasses with the letter G denote that we have to live by the principles of the square and compass, We have to learn to square our conduct, square our actions, square our thoughts, and the compass reminds us to limit our desires, reminds us the length of our cable toe, reminds us the duties one owes to the other. In fine it teaches us to become good, better, and even better by adopting what ever we find good in others and amending in ourselves what ever to us appears bad in quest of Perfection. The letter ‘G’ denotes God to whom we must all submit and to whom we ought most humbly to adore.
The Square Pavement is to remind us of Good and Evil, Happiness & Sorrow, thus it teaches us to learn to distinguish between good and evil, to maintain absolute balance at times of Happiness & Sorrow. In fine it teaches us to lead our lives more effectively and enjoying every moment of it by giving us the divine sight that enables us to distinguish between positives and negatives and effectively guides us through the intricate windings of this our mortal life.
The two great pillars are to remind us once again that in Strength we have to establish ourselves, our brethren and the entire world those true qualities which will enable us to establish a spiritual house, to stand firm for ever with Brotherly love, relief and Truth as the foundation stones, and thereby make this world a better place to live and stay. A world where there in no hatred, but empowered only by love. Where there is no person in distress as relief is administered by one and every one around us. Where there is no deception but only truth prevails. ‘Satya Mev Jayte’
The two very important dates ie. 12th October, 1998 and 1st November, 1998. These are the two very important dates when the lodge was warranted by the Grand Lodge and 1st November, 1998 when M.W. Bro. H.P. Mathur, OSM, actually consecrated the same to act as a lodge for all purposes. But there is yet another date which is missing here that is the date of conception when the Founder Members came forward with a thought in there minds of having such a Lodge into existence.
We are very thankful to Lodge Raisina No. 97, New Delhi and its members who have presented this banner to our Lodge.
This is just not a piece of cloth but upon this cloth we have our motive knitted our direction marked our intentions embroidered. This has a very special meaning for one and every member of this Lodge, our lodge flag, banner, we the members of this Lodge hold in veneration and pledge our devotion to live by the principles of freemasonry in general and of this lodge in particular. In Fine this banner is a pictorial representation of our thoughts and what our lodge is all about.
We want such a time to come that good men and freemason be considered as synonyms in literal terms. S.M.I.B.
