The Government
The Royal Homelandian Goverment combines the best from both a Monarchy and a Republic. The Regent is the formal head-of-state, while the presidency is the top political spokesman or political overseer.
The Regent with His council( the Cabinet of ministers/secretaries) forms the executive branch. However the Regent is dependent of the Noble Council to reign. The Noble Council is in many ways the caretaker of the Royal Court. The Regent knights nobles, and the Nobles maintain the monarchy. Which is further explained in the link above.
The House of Nobles (Lords) consists of the District Lords (as each district has its own Lord as it has a political governor, just as the nation has one head-of-state and a political president) and the dukes of the major parts Homeland is divided into.
The Senate is where the senators meet, two is elected from each district. The political party who gets the majority of each district, wins its seats in the Senate. Colonies sends one non-political senator to the Senate.
