VAMPIRES

Vampires are a highly dangerous form of undead, created by the combined efforts of Mortimus, Castor and Afzaal. They have certain demonic characteristics, such as the draining of blood from victims to sustain their own existence.
The Vampiric is the ultimate perversion of the natural order of things, these are creatures of necromancy, a step below the Lich mages but, considering themselves a step above mortal 'meat'. The knowledge of their creation has been attributed to Afzaal the Lord Of Destruction, Mortimus the Lord Of The Dead and several masters of forbidden and perverted magic. The fact that most Vampires are either followers of a demonic entity, or, working actively for Castor seems to have been widely ignored by most scholars.
There are a few
running arguments around the nature of the vampiric, but this
humble scholar has discovered there to be several substrate
within the word itself which will be discussed slightly later
within this document.
Facts which are common to all of the substrate are the need to
consume blood to stay alive, there are raging arguments as to
why, including the need to animate the flesh in some form of
necromantic ritual, the usage of blood as a carrier of oxygen
around the body (almost as a remit of the Elven scholar Amada's
treatise on the blood) and to feed the daemon within, none of
these facts have yet to be proved.
Sunlight is almost always anathema to these creatures as well,
they are destined to stalk the nights forever, whether it is
damnation or God given blessing, is yet to be proved. Other
things which affect the majority are garlic to varying degrees
and silver. Several types may be slain by decapacitation or the
administration of a stake to the heart.
