REVENANTS

These are the
horrors of Vampire kind, those shunned even by their own, those
maddened by the blood lust and hunted by the village mobs with
flaming torches. Revenants are what happens when the vampires
kiss goes horribly wrong or by some freak of nature or timing a
mortal woman is impregnated by one of the Vampiri.
Revenants are beyond ugly, they are actually rotting flesh, and
cane feel it happening, this drives them to madness and
destruction, they are shunned by the other vampire races because
they can see in the Revenant what they themselves are beneath the
eternally unchanging flesh.
Revenants however are nearly indestructible, perhaps a gift from
their own torment, a pity of the gods, only fire can destroy
them, and through that they will scream, many a village has
started the burning but not finished it out of misplaced pity,
misplaced because revenants do not heal. They are also vulnerable
to the sun turning almost instantly to ash under its rays.
The revenants feeding is beyond painful, it normally leads to
death for the mortal involved through some obscure form of poison
that rots the victim from the inside out. There is no known cure
for revenant bites save divine intervention, which has only
happened once (During the Second Divine Struggle, when Hestia took pity on a small child bitten by a
Revenant).
GMs note: In some games, Revenants are resurrected warriors from the past.
