after an interesting overnight bus journey we made it to arequipa where we booked a tour of the colca canyon. this canyon is really deep, and has a point where you can watch the condors flying. luckily the tour party found out it was vics birthday, and they organised a birthday cake for him.

         

         

    

on the way back we found a number of tame eagles. eventually i was persuaded to let one sit on my arm. the eagle managed to control its large talons, which were the size of my fingers, but looked much more scary.

         

and that was it. the trip was over, and all that was left was to get back on a plane and head home. we came so close to not actually making that plane...
