go to peru

After Machu Picchu we were a bit tired. So we went to the nearby town of Aguas Calientes for a swim, and did a bit of shopping. It was a mad town, with the railway line running right through the middle

the next few days were spent back at cusco enjoying our time with the girls. breakfast at greens (all this for under 3), penny checking out some inca stonework (carved with no metal instruments), and one morning in a pub

next up was puno to look at the floating islands. these are a set of islands made entirely of reeds. they are anchored to the bottom of the lake to stop them moving. the houses are made of reeds. the boats are made of reeds. almost everything is made of reeds except the solar panels.
