When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Over the years we've had the privilege of being owned and loved by so many special 4 legged family members but the past few years have seen us lose too many of them.  I've had a sad yet happy time sorting through photos for this page.  They brought back many wonderful memories of times gone by and I'd like to share some of them with you.

Kas head

Glennock Black Kaspah

March 24th, 1983 -

March 22nd, 1998

Kas was my first Sheltie.  He was a wonderful friend and companion to me for nearly 15 years and started me on my constant love of Shelties.

Kas lying down, old He was a handsome, vibrant chap for most of his life, but as old age crept up on him he developed a certain dignity that suited him.

Crystal Babe of Raama Lee

December 12th, 1983 -

May 9th, 1998

Not long after Kas took over our house, we were joined by the prettiest little blue merle puppy, Crystal.  Shelties are addictive, it's very hard to stop at one!  She was bought to show, but hated the show ring.  She produced 4 litters of puppies for me and as I kept a puppy from each litter our household expanded.

Crystal old Crystal aged gracefully.  She was a good humoured, playful lady who had a lovely, big smile, a trait she passed on to some of her children.

Lucy head young

Kloudy Lucy of Kensham

July 2nd, 1985 -

October 10th, 1999

Lucy was the daughter of Kas and Crystal.  What a wonderful member of our family she turned out to be. I sold her when she was 4 months old but she was returned the next day as she didn't like the children in the family ... thank goodness!!!  She wouldn't speak to me for 3 days, but we never fell out again.

Lucy on table She was always happy and ready for any sort of fun or action.  She loved puppies!  She only had 1 litter herself but mothered 2 litters for Crystal to the extent of coming into milk and taking over feeding and toilet duties.  Crystal didn't mind, she wasn't that keen on puppies.

Lucy had always been extremely healthy and in October 1999 we were horrified to discover; after months of treatment for her weight loss, that she had cancer.
