BATTLE FOR THE BIBLE

How, in a Europe dominated by the Roman Catholic Church, did the Reformation emerge that would question the very foundations of the Church?

With or without Wycliffe's active involvement, the English Bible became part of an underground movement that became known as Lollardy and continued to spread after Wycliffe's death in 1384. It worried Church authorities enough that by 1407 the English translation was denounced as unauthorized, and translating or using translated Bibles was defined as heresy -- a crime for which the punishment was death by burning. In 1415 Wycliffe himself was denounced, posthumously, as a heretic. His body was exhumed and burned in 1428.

  2. WHERE in the bible did the lord god of israel say/declare that ?

  3. as far as i know and believe, the bible alludes to no such thing!

  4. therefore, could it be a personal innovation only?

  5. it could well be, unless of course it could be PROVED otherwise.

please quote only the new testament to prove otherwise since, it was written well OVER 3 - 11 decades AFTER the mission and life of jesus himself.

The Jehovah's Witnesses and John 1:1

The New World Translation

c.  and the Word[1] was A god[2].
This one was in [the] beginning
with God. [new world translation of the holy scriptures, 1984, pp. 1281]

  • 1808    'and the word was _ A_ god'
  • 1864   'and _ A_ god was the WORD'

therefore, john's statement that the word or logos was A god or divine or godlike DOES NOT mean that he was the god with whom he was, it merely expresses a certain quality about the word or logos BUT IT DOES NOT IDENTIFY HIM AS ONE AND THE SAME AS GOD HIMSELF  [new world translation of the holy scriptures, 1984, pp. 1579]

N S B Notes: Non-Trinitarian Bible Translations

COMPARE John 1:1: Approximately four hundred and fifty English translations of the Christian Greek Holy Scriptures have been written over the past five hundred years. Of this total, about forty have rendered John 1:1 with wording that is different then the usual Trinitarian statement: “the Word was God”.

The following Bible translations of John 1:1 would indicate that perhaps these were Non-Trinitarian Bible Translations. Other important Scripture verses would also need to be examined to determine how non-Trinitarian they really were. Some of these translations read very much like the Trinitarian Biased Translations in other verses.

The New Simplified Bible is Not Trinitarian Biased! John 1:1, 18; 8:58; 10:34-36; 14:10, 11, 17; 16:13-15; Exodus 3:14, 15 and many other references give evidence of this.

COMPARE John 14:10: Now let’s compare how John 14:10 is translated in several modern translations. The phrase in question is “I am in the Father” and “the Father is in me.” One would think that Jesus and the Father were one and the same being from this wording. However, the Greek word
“en” they translated “in.” It can also be translated “with.” Notice the comparison:

1769 Authorized Version of KJV: “I am in the Father.”
1902 Rotherham Bible: “I am in the Father.”
1933 George M Lamsa Translation: “I am
with the Father.”
1961 New World Translation: “I am in
union with the Father.”
1989 New Revised Standard Version: “I am in the Father.”
1995 New American Standard Bible: “I am in the Father.”
2000 New International Version: “I am in the Father.”
2001 2001 Translation: I’m in
unity with the Father.”
2003 New Simplified Bible: “I am
with the Father.”

Nearly all English Bible translations use the phrase “I am in the Father” at John 14:10. This time we find four translations that do not emphasize the false and mysterious Trinity. They are the New World Translation, George M Lamsa Translation, the 2001 Translation, and the New Simplified Bible.

COMPARE John 8:58: Take a closer look at John 8:58. Most Bible translations use the deliberate Trinitarian phrase, “Before Abraham was, I am.” This is Jesus Christ the Son of God speaking. They want you to think that phrase “I am” means God. But does it? Or does it simply mean
“I exist (existed).” The word they translated “am” is from the Greek “eimi.” It has several meanings including: am, exist, and was. Notice how the the translations compare:

1611 King James Version: “I am”
1901 American Standard Version: “I am”
1933 George M Lamsa Translation:
“I was”
1961 New World Translation:
“I have been”
1989 New Revised Standard Version: “I am”
1995 New American Standard Bible: “I am”
2ooo New International Version: “I am”
2001 2001 Translation:
“I existed before Abraham was born.”
2003 New Simplified Bible:
“I existed before Abraham was born”

Again we find the same four translations that champion the true God of the Bible, a Monotheistic Deity. They are the New World Translation, George M Lamsa Translation, the 2001 Translation, and the New Simplified Bible.

COMPARE Exodus 3:14: This is where the devious conspiracy begins! The Trinitarian translators mislead the unsuspecting Bible student at the very begininng of the the Holy Scriptures. The Hebrew word that they translate “I AM WHO I AM” is
“hayah.” It can be translated “am”, “have been”, “will become”, “exist”, remain”, “will be”. Look at these translation comparisons:

1611 King James Version: “I AM THAT I AM”
1901 American Standard Version: “I AM THAT I AM”
1933 George M Lamsa Translation:
“I am AHIAH ASHAR HIGH, (that is, THE LIVING GOD)
1961 New World Translation: “
I SHALL PROVE TO BE WHAT I SHALL PROVE TO BE”
1989 New Revised Standard Version: “I AM WHO I AM”
1995 New American Standard Bible: “I AM WHO I AM”
2ooo New International Version: “I AM WHO I AM”
2001 2001 Translation: “
I am the One Who [Proves] to Be!”
2003 New Simplified Bible:
[I exist and] I will be who I will be”

Again we find only four English translations that recognize the true God of the Holy Scriptures. These translations are the New World Translation, George M Lamsa Translation, the 2001 Translation, and the New Simplified Bible.

Do you see the difference? The Trinitarian translators want you to believe that God is called “I AM” in the “Old Testament”
and Jesus is called “I AM” in the “New Testament” and, therefore, they must be the same…and part of a mysterious, inscrutable, combination of three-Gods-in-one or God in three persons. This mystifying belief is even beyond the average human imagination. Only Satan the devil could have thought up such deceit and confusion!

regardless,  jesus then, was the WORD, which not only preceded THE GOD, the father in the beginning, BUT ALSO successfully converted him.

Catholic Church Settles Los Angeles Sex Abuse Cases for $660 Million

Sunday, July 15, 2007

LOS ANGELES —  The nation's largest Catholic archdiocese has settled its abuse cases for $660 million, by far the largest payout in the church's sexual abuse scandal, The Associated Press has learned.

The settlements push the total amount paid out by the U.S. church since 1950 to more than $2 billion, with about a quarter of that coming from the Los Angeles archdiocese.

The Petrine Deception Volume 8, Issue 5 By Douglas S. Winnail

Tomorrow’s World Facts of History

BUT WAS PETER THE FIRST POPE TO PRESIDE IN ROME? EVEN CATHOLIC SOURCES ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE TERM "POPE" WAS NOT USED IN THE WEST "UNTIL THE FIRST HALF OF THE 5TH CENTURY" (Short Biographies of All the Popes, Lozzi Roma, p. 2).

As scholar Hans Küng states: "Catholic theologians concede that there is no reliable evidence THAT PETER WAS EVER IN CHARGE OF THE CHURCH IN ROME AS SUPREME HEAD OR BISHOP" (The Catholic Church, Küng, p. 20). Professor Küng also mentions that "there could be no question of a legal primacy—or even of a pre-eminence based on the Bible—of the Roman community or even of the Bishop of Rome in the first centuries" (ibid., p. 49). The New Testament does not link Peter with Rome, and it mentions no successor to Peter.

the vatican version http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki /Pope

Early history

Catholics say that the primacy of the papacy derives from Jesus Christ himself, while non-Catholic historians see the primacy of the pope as arising out of hundreds of years of church tradition. All agree that the Pope's role developed through history.

Early history It is generally accepted amongst most Catholic and non-Catholic historians that the institution of the papacy as it exists today developed through the centuries, after the traditional ARRIVAL OF PETER IN ROME C. 50.

During the first century of the Christian Church, the Roman capital became recognized as a Christian center of exceptional note since it WAS FOUNDED BY ST. PETER, THE "PRINCE OF THE APOSTLES"; but there are only a few 1st century references to the r! ecogniti on of the authoritative primacy of the Roman See outside of Rome.

MHCC;   Christ added that he had named him Peter, in allusion to his stability or firmness in professing the truth. The word translated “rock,” is not the same word as Peter, but is of a similar meaning. Nothing can be more wrong than to suppose that Christ meant the person of Peter was the rock. Without doubt Christ himself is the Rock, the tried foundation of the church; and woe to him that attempts to lay any other! Peter's confession is this rock as to doctrine.

But what does the Bible say?

No one can deny or find fault with FACTS. They are actualities! Plain facts concerning the Bible itself, its characters, statements, etc., educates and edifies. This includes Peter, for example, who is introduced in John 1:40-42. "When Jesus saw him He said, thou art Simon [one who hears], the son of Jona; thou shalt be Cephas, which is by interpretation, a stone." "Cephas" is Syriac; "Peter" is Greek. It was Peter who first preached the gospel of Christ to the Jewish nation and to the Gentiles. The fact remains however, that Peter (with the eleven) was an apostle only "to the circumcision," Israel. Galatians 2:7,9 reads: "When they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision [Gentiles] was committed unto me [Paul] as the gospel of [or 'to'] the circumcision was unto Peter; and when James, Cephas [Peter], and John who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me they gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship that we should go to the heathen (Gentiles) and they unto the circumcision" (Israel).

Who Heads the True Church?

The Jews knew from the old scriptures that the "Son of God" denoted Deity and that the Lord is called "a Rock": "He is THE ROCK... the Rock that begat thee... our Rock. Deut.32:4,18,31. "Who is a rock save our GOD?" Psalms 18:31. Thus the apostles had no misunderstanding of Christ's words after Peter's confession, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God," that not on a mere man, not on Peter ("Petros," a stone), but on this Rock ("Petra," a great rock, Christ) "I will build my church." Matt. 16:16,18.

Evidently, Christ's church is not built upon a mere man, but upon the foundation laid down by the apostles and prophets, "Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone." Eph. 2:20. To this Peter adds his testimony in 1 Peter 2:6-8, that Christ the chief cornerstone was the "stone which the builders (Jewish leaders) disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, a stone of stumbling and a ROCK of offence." All believers, including Peter, "as living stones are built up a spiritual house," v.5. As "one who hears" Simon Peter included himself among the "living stones" who have heard and believed the gospel, who in Christ "are builded together for the habitation of God through the Spirit." Eph. 2:21,22. "Other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Cor. 3:11.

Truly, it is the Lord Jesus Christ, the FOUNDER of His church (Whom "God hath highly exalted and given a name which is above every name" Phil. 2:9), Who heads His church, NOT a succession of Adamic sinful human beings, elected by men of like Adamic nature, to become "Popes."

(Malachi 2:10 KJV) Have we not all one father? hath not one God אל  'êl  ale.410 created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

(John 17:11 KJV) And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

in the roman catholic christian world, the pope is the 'holy father,' see: the vatican web site.

and that being an irrefutable and irrevocable claim, is the pope then also claiming to be the god on earth as well, the 'holy father' of jesus christ himself?

1Jn 5:7 -

1Jo 5:7
There are three that bear record in heaven. This verse is not found in the Revision or in any ancient MS.
It is no doubt an interpolation.

For there are three that bear record in heaven ... - There are three that “witness,” or that “bear witness” - the same Greek word which, in 1Jo_5:8, is rendered “bear witness” - μαρτυροῦντες  marturountes.

It is not consistent with the design of these notes to go into a full investigation of a question of this sort.

 I. It is missing in all the earlier Greek manuscripts, for it is found in no Greek manuscript written before the 16th century. .... But it is incredible that a genuine passage of the New Testament should be missing in all the early Greek manuscripts.

II. It is missing in the earliest versions, and, indeed, in a large part of the versions of the New Testament which have been made in all former times. It is wanting in both the Syriac versions - one of which was made probably in THE FIRST CENTURY; in the Coptic, Armenian, Slavonic, Ethiopic, and Arabic.

III. It is never quoted by the Greek fathers in their controversies on the doctrine of the Trinity - a passage which would be so much in point, and which could not have failed to be quoted if it were genuine; and it is not referred to by the Latin fathers until the time of Vigilius, at the end of the 5th century.

 (b) The “language” is not such as John would use. He does, indeed, elsewhere use the term “Logos,” or “Word” - ὁ Λόγος  ho Logos, Joh_1:1, Joh_1:14; 1Jo_1:1, but it is never in this form, “The Father, and the Word;” that is, the terms “Father” and “Word” are never used by him, or by any of the other sacred writers, as correlative.

SO NOW, we know WHY & WHAT paul exactly meant when he proclaimed:

(Romans 3:7 KJV)

  1. For if the truth of God

  2. hath more abounded through my lie

  3. unto his glory;

  4. why yet am

  5. also judged as a sinner?
